It is basically a OC'd 4870, so unless you are on a big monitor and need the extra VRAM, you can just OC your card.

HD 4890 in 3 weeks when it's going to be $200 out the door. The relatively low max temp on the HD 4890 makes it the real winner. It should be fairly quiet even when OC'd to ~1GHz. Also going to assuming the HD 4890 X2 will come out sooner than later despite the signs against... because of that low heat output.Originally posted by: msi1337

It is but than 4890 have very good overclocking ability. many reviews show 4890 hitting 1ghz and is neck and neck with GTX280 285.
