The egg has a deal on XFX's 9600GSO. You get Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty 5: World at War for free. There's also a $20 MiR with it too.

The card is essentially a rebadged 8800GT (see edit), so it isn't TOO awesome, and the price is about what you can expect....you're basically buying two games and getting a free video card.

Whoops, I meant the 8800GS. Also, as far as I can tell, it is the 96 SP version. The 48 SP version had a default core clock of 650, while the 96 SP version had a default of 550. This runs at 580, which looks more like a 30 hz overclock of the older (more powerful) version, with the traditional gobs of überlangsam memory.

This is not a rebadged 8800GT. Depending on which version it is, it might have 96 or 64 SP (vs 112 of the 8800GT), and the memory bandwidth is less. It can be had for around $40 AR without the games.

Also to add is that these models are running DDR2 and not DDR3 that is found on the 8800/9800GT as well as other 9600 based cards.

Warning 2 pin fan connector!!! (look at the pictures) This means no fan control thus the fan is at a high speed all the time. Shame on XFX for skimping on a simple option. I bought a 8800gs (basically the same card) and it was freaking loud. I had to replace the HSF to make it a viable card.

wow, i see alot of HATERS in anandtech.

Video Card - $50 w/o the hassle of rebates
Call of Duty 4 - $20 used
Call of Duty 5 - $20 used

The $10 shipping, equals to.........can anyone guess this?

People aren't hating. For reasons already stated, this is just not a good deal, even if the card ends up being $50.00.

This has to be a mistake. It is neither the 192bit version or the 256bit version. Also with 1gb of DDR2 memory at 128bit, this is not a good card.

Why in God's name would a company bring out a POS like this.
There's a reason that it has 2 $50 games and a rebate attached.

As for the memory bus, it looks like they're cutting corners and trying to look better by using god-aweful memory. Otherwise, it appears to be a mildly overclocked 96 SP version. Though, the 1GB of memory is going to be absolutely unusable with the circa 1999 memory speeds.

The card is usable, as it's practically my Laptop's GPU on a desktop board. I have COD4, and it runs well.

If this only has a 128-bit memory bus, then it has to be a 48SP GPU, no? Because the memory bus size was linked to the number of shader clusters, 192-bit memory bus had three clusters (96SP), 256-bit memory bus (for G92) had four (128SP).
But the G94 chip, has a 256-bit memory bus, but only 48SP. So if this has half that, what is it?
