XFX PVT88PYSF4 GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail
Quiet and cool ZALMAN fan

Same as the Gigabyte one, but not overclocked.

Also remember XFX has lifetime warranty :)

this is a great deal... it's also posted somewhere else, methinks... the card is fast, the cooler is quiet, the warranty is lifetime...

ok stupid question probably... is this card the g92 chipset flavor? how do you tell if a 8800 gt video card has the g92 chipset and not the older g80? thanks.

Every 8800GT is a G92, the 8800GTS can be either G80 or G92.

if the mem is 512 or 256 or 384 it's a g92... if it's 320 or 640 or 784 it's g80...

their specs are identical, except for the core clock. the xfx has a lifetime warranty, so i'm not sure if the extra clock speed is worth it. also, it seems like the xfx has a quieter fan according to some reviews.

the xfx is going to be quieter for the same level of cooling... both have lifetime warranty... the xfx wins, methinks...

XFX has the best warranty. eVGA used to, but now XFX offers you the ability to TRANSFER warranties to a second owner. Plus its warranty covers modding and overclocking just like eVGA.

just remember to register within 30 days or else you get 1 year warranty :(

Also the gigabyte 8800gt has only a 3 year warranty :(

This depends on what the rest of your system is and what resolution you like to play at.

The Gigabyte is overclocked stock I believe. I bought the XFX due to warranty and you can overclock it yourself. Not sure which one is quieter/cooler.

If this thing's still around when I buy my parts for my next full build in a month and a half, I might just jump on this...

Most likely you will get it even cheaper than 140. As with all cpus and videocards, the next gen is always around the corner. Seems like vendors are throwing out these cards in preparation of the new nvidia cards coming out

Yeah it sure seems like it...because even Frys.com has a 512MB 8800GT (PNY) for $140AR

Nice find.

I already have one XFX (with the plain cooler), but think I'll pick this up to be able to run SLI, as I have a few SLI capable boards.

Prices will for sure drop, but in my case I would rather have a matched pair than save a few bucks down the road. As long as you register your card within the first 30 days, that lifetime warranty while having the option to swap coolers, makes XFX one of my favorite brands when it comes to graphics cards.

This looks dead today.
$169.99
3 Business Day Shipping $7.59
no rebates listed.

Too bad. I have been pondering getting rid of my Xtasy 800xt (BIOS flashed).
