XFX 8800GT continously making a siren sound? New Build and blank screen.

Just put together my new build with the 4 basic components:

Abit IP35-Pro
C2D Q6600
GSkill 2x2GB ram
XFX 8800GT

When I boot up, there is this contiunous long beep (more like a super high pitch siren) with no output to monitor. The videocard's fan is not spinning.

Trying to decipher if this is an error posted by the mobo and outputted to the SPKR, I unplugged the PC SPKR. Booted it up again, it still beeps, so i am pretty sure it is not a mobo error code. But rather, the beep/siren is coming from the XFX card, I think.

I unplugged the vid card, the beep stops, I think the computer acutally is POSTing (even though I have no way to tell without a vid card). But I can tell by the Abit POST LED code on the mobo, the various code it went though tells me it is POSTing fine.

So what gives? Possibly a dead card? This is a brand new retail XFX 8800GT, do I really have that bad of a luck to get a dud? I already tried re-seating it several times to no avail.

Never mind, forgot to plug in the 6 pin connector, it was hidden to the side edge of the card instead of the usual top edge.

Don't sweat it. Most system builders/upgraders have done similar stuff, even if they won't admit it. Another common problem is not plugging in the 4 pin +12v on the motherboard.

I'm a little bit surprised that it didn't do anything. I forgot the 4-pin power connector on my 7600GS once, but the computer still ran. After I booted into windows, I got a message saying my video card was running in low-power mode. I figured that would happen with all cards.

This happens w/ the X1900 series from ATI too, I forgot to plug in the 6pin on my old X1900XT once and it made a siren / beeping sound tested my 8800GTS and 8800GT just to see if it was true w/ them aswell, and it is, they all make the same noise if no 6pin is present.

I remember the first time I heard that squeal. Scared the shit out of me. The GeForce 6800 GT that I had was easily louder than any motherboard speaker beep.
