XFX 8800GT Alpha Dog owners, pls read!

I purchased this exact XFX card to put in my new build. On the very first startup after assembly, something blew, and the system never started. I've already RMAed the PSU and mobo, and since no one is quite sure where the short came from--and we've gone over it to death in the "Computer Help" forum--I'm thinking of RMAing everything else that was installed in the mobo at the time: RAM, CPU, and the XFX card. If one of them is the culprit, then the new mobo could blow as soon as I plug it in.

What I'm trying to do here is narrow down where the short or overload came from. Has anyone experienced a short, or other electrical problems w/this card? If so, did you purchase it from Newegg in the past 2 weeks?

Purchased the card about 1-2 days after my AT join date, and it worked great the first time I booted it up, at full x16 and never had a single issue.

you should list full system specs if you're describing a problem such as this, it could be the PSU is to blame, in any case XFX has a warranty. try the card in someone else's system if possible.
