witch one to choose?

I now that both are similar in term of performance, but I'm looking also low levels of noise, temperatures and power consumption FXF is with 2x pins (and good quality for sure).

Is it worth to wait for HIS release, seems like it is very quiet and cool, or XFX is also cool and quiet (life time warranty)...

and now it`s really hard to choose.

HIS single fan gets pretty hot if you OC it high.

I can't find any relevant vcore OC info for the XFX but its the same pcb and cooling as the 7870, so it should really handle a 7850 very well. I was going to get it due to these factors, but my mITX rig need a smaller card for a good fit.
 
HIS ICEQ coolers are good in my experience.

as far as which card is better ... I wouldn't listen much to people that say "XYZ SUCKS"
buy whichever you like.

my old ICEQ cooler on a radeon 3870 is better than the cooler on most 7850 cards these days.
I tried to swap it onto my 7850 yesterday, but AMD has rotated the die 45 degress 🙁
 
MSI TF III is also a viable option. It's my understanding it's pretty much identical to Sapphire in terms of OC potential/cooling/noise.
 
As I need to find one of these cards for my son, and you have presented viable options, how about (anyone) providing links to where they are available at the best prices (as of right now)????

With regard to XFX, my sons current gaming PC has a XFX Radeon HD4890 and we did our first RMA just over two weeks ago. XFX got it fixed and out the door in under eight days. However, they sent it fedex "Smart Post" and the FEDEX container with it in it has been sitting in St. Louis for EIGHT DAYS!! It isnt XFX fault but fedex...

End of rant.

I understand. And sorry to sidetrack but I only build a new one about ever 1.5-2 years for my son and then I get his old one - if it still works! You guys are in it all the time and this was my first RMA too.

In fact I just checked fedex and see it took TWO WEEKS for them to get it to our local post office and then it will be another two days for them to deliver. I won't be surprised if Tom Hanks delivers the package...

You could say the same about ford, chevy, cheetos, etc.

the problem with your condemnation of a particular company is you become a one man crusade.
You mentioned xfx I still have a working xfx card that's nearly 10yrs old or so
the recent phoronix review I saw of the xfx 7xxx radeon was favorable.

Not everyone will share the same results, the people with problems just tend to be louder in my experience.

Imho, no. I would get the cheapest well cooled version I could find, whether that is Sapphire OC Edition (dual fan)/Atomic/Toxic, ASUS DirectCUII, MSI Twin FrozrIII/Lightning, or HIS IceQ Turbo. Maybe also Gigabyte Windforce but I have not researched that one as much.

Don't condemn the forum member. He is doing his best to advise another, XFX still makes excellent power supplies but their video card cooling has dropped the ball in recent years. Read reviews comparing XFX versions of vid cards opposed to others. Heat is the enemy to an overclocker, and for a stable running environment.

Seen one professional review and newegg reviews of the gigabyte 7850 which state some issues of rattling fans or loose shroud shaking.

Not everyone gets this though, and some have fixed the issue themselves by jimmying something next to where it's rattling. Only issue i see of it. I would avoid personally, as I like brand new stuff to just work.
 
I am currently using an XFX 6870, as you know this is not a chipset known for producing lots of heat. I use a 1360x768 lcd tv and the card plays anything I throw at it with ease. But even at that low resolution the card runs hot, if I turn up the AA it runs exceedingly hot. I have seen temps as high as 91c during Bad Co. 2 gaming and my ambient temps in this room are only 65f to 70f. I have intake and exhaust fans and my case is perfectly clean and dust free. I do not overclock. My last card was a 4870 from visiontek, that chipset was notoriously hot and it still ran way cooler than this xfx. I wouldnt buy another xfx personally.
