xfx 7800gtx tv-out problems

Hi. When using the composite out connection of my gtx the display is black and white. If I try to change the settings to composite instead of auto it doesn't display anything at all. I know it is plugged in right because it works fine until the drivers kick in. When i remove the drivers the color works fine. It seems as though it is still trying to use component out. Anyone have any idea what i can do????

I actually had the same problem on a Geforce 3 Ti500 that was bad.

I wound up RMAing it.

Edit: some things to try, what drivers have you used? if youre using the ones on the CD, definately try the latest official drivers from www.nvidia.com.

I tried it on a different computer with a 6600 and the same thing happened. It has the same output setup - the 3 component plugs and one of those plugs doubles as a composite. Is there some setting I'm missing somewhere??? I thought it might be the tv possibly, but we tried a radeon card and it worked fine.

I had the same problem with my Albatron 7800GTX. After changing the setting to composite instead of auto my once black and white image turned to nothing, so I started connecting the composite cable into different connectors on the 'cable tree'. {not sure about yours but mine has two composite out connectors, one green and one blue} Poof! After connecting to the blue one I got full color!

So in short; green cable on auto detect = black and white picture and blue cable on composite detect = color picture
