@Newegg

This PCIe card has 8 pipelines (don't know if any unlockable), 256MB 256bit memory at 1000MHz, 350MHz core and sexy black PCB for 2% extra performance. Seems like a reasonable deal with the high clock speeds. Newegg also has an eVGA 6800 256MB for $95AR. It has 12 pipes but is clocked 325/600. That core will end up performing better, but that's quite a slow memory speed. Also, boring green PCB. :D

EDIT: Price went up to $104 AR.

Son of a biscut. I just got mine from ZZF for $120AR. I knew I should have waited.

It plays BF2, COD2, Quake 4, HL2, CS:S, and DOD:S all @ 1600x1200 on high settings all across the board. Quake 4 jumps every once in a while but still pretty dang good for the price.

I mentioned that in my OP. My take is that this is the better deal because it has a higher clocked core and much, much faster memory. You can't make up a 400MHz memory deficit. The 4 extra pipes, dunno but perhaps they can be unlocked because the native 6800 series PCIe core such as the 6800GS has 12 pipes. Perhaps this XT is just the same core with 4 disabled. Can anyone confirm?

Remember that XT for Nividia is similar to ATI's SE versions meaning it's their low end card. They do it to trick people because XT is ATI's highend which is comparable to Nvidia's Ultra moniker. I think this deal is considerably better than the one posted here:

This deal is only better if you don't mind using ATI but if you like Nvidia better than it's not the deal for you. I myself just go for the higher actual performing card at a the best price possible.

Well I'm anxiously awaiting mine to come tomorrow. I still have some doubts about maybe getting the GS instead, but I thought this was a better deal if i could unlock the rest of the pixel pipes.

I've tried finding a review of 6800xt, but haven't come across any. Does anyone know of a good link?

This card has dual dvi, which I wanted. User reviews report decent game performance, but I'm not a gamer. I do masturbate, though. Does that count?

I just got the card installed and played around with RivaTuner a bit. Unfortunately, this card is running on a NV42 core so the extra pixel pipelines and vertex shaders are not unlocking =o(. RivaTuner did show that there was one extra set of pipelines and one vertex shader that were disabled, but it will not unlock them. Maybe I got a bad card and if anyone currently is doing better then please let me know.

I'm currently running at 450/1150 OC'd right now with RivaTuner and everything is good so far. I'm going to load up some games later on tonight and see how it handles.

I guess that's like the Radeon X800GTO cards that won't unlock to 16 pipes. Still, a good overclock that should push it definately beyond 6600GT performance and perhaps even beyond eVGA 6800 performance (with the 600MHz DDR).

BTW, price went up. I edited OP to reflect this. No big because only $5 up and the original price was a "one day sale" at the 'Egg.
