Hey Zodd

I don't think you'll have any problem running either card will Dell's ps. I have a 2 year old Dimension 4500 with that 250W ps - running 2 hard drives, 2 optical drives, FX5900 (requires that extra molex be plugged in), floppy drive, Audigy 2, WinXP + other peripherals. I've never had problems, not even a warning from ForceWare showing not enough voltage.

I did some research on this very issue BEFORE buying the FX5900 last Christmas. It's not that Dell under-rates their ps - the number that's given is AVERAGE output. So, that 250W rating is more like a 350-400W PEAK output.

BTW, be EXTREMELY careful is you ever change the power supply. It looks like and is identical to a normal ATX ps, but the wiring through the connector is different from ANY other ATX ps. You can cook your system is a second if the wiring is not identical!

Hope this helps!

Thanks! That helped a lot!

The Outpost BFG is a 'Call for availability' now .... I'm guessing the 6800's will soon be hard to find, as most vendors will try and sell 6600s or 6600GTs. Someone chime in, as I want the 6800 and will hafta jump on the Outpost deal sooner than I wanted to, or at least while they are readily available. The same thing happened to me after waiting for the 5900's after the 5900XTs came out.

ARGHHH, this PC upgrading obsession is killing meeee !!!!!!!1
