xfps 360 review mouse and keyboard for xbox360

Awesome link!

Thanks OP... Joker, it looks like you post in their forums... If you read this (5150Joker) send me a PM... I want to know how great it works.

Wow, thats awsome! Im totally getting that, then i can ditch pc gaming forever. Hoo-raaay!

Its been a fun ride though.

i think this will hurt xbox live.

i don't want to play gears of war against someone using a mouse and keyboard 🙁

I will definitely get this. I was considering an another wireless controller but for the extra $80 I'd much prefer this thing.

XBox360 + XFPS + keyboard + Logitech Trackman Marble (old school version) = happy console gaming

Blame it on stupid microsoft for not adding kb/mouse support in the first place. Don't they know how many more consoles they would sell if they did that?!

Totally agree. MS should have released something like this from the very beginning. but then if they would just add a driver to the OS on the xbox so that we could just plug in our mouse/key into the usb ports, it would be that much better.

$80 is a little pricey, then on top of that have to buy a wired controller to get it to work.

Those who buy let us know your thoughts.......

Thats all that has ever held me back from playing FPS on a console: the crappy controller.

The "crappy" controller is superior for many genres: platformers, fighters, racers, sports games... hell, just about everything except FPS, RTS, and MMORPGS.

They had a device just like that for the XBox. People were also modding controllers to put jump and melee buttons on the bottom of the controller and some were also putting toggle switches that can make your character stay crouched. I've got some at home 🙂 Live hasn't suffered as a result as far as I can tell.

I pre-ordered and it should be here next week. Once I get my second Xbox360 replacement in :| I'll hook it up and let everyone know how it works.

I said when consoles could be used with mouse and keyboards I would consider one

reasons why I like console gaming over pc gaming even though I PC game still:
online play is virtually free from cheaters
console gaming is cheaper than the constant upgrading and such for PC's
you don't have to deal with windows 🙂
play with friends on the same console

even though the mouse and keyboard isn't natively supported I am seriously considering it now but I just bought a new PC not too long ago so maybe later

I agree the "crappy" controller is better for those games but the difference between a mouse and keyboard vs a controller in fps is night and day. since I play FPS for the most part I don't want to switch to console gaming.

It says, 'WASD' movement not programmable. Does that mean you can't use the arrow keys for movement? Yes, I still use them instead of WASD. 😉

Well I was refering only to FPS. I agree a controller is better on other games, just not the FPS genre.

Console controllers aren't even that good; it's just that's what you're use to. Wheels rule at race games, and joysticks at flight games. If they made any good fight games for the PC, I'd rather use a keyboard with a 105 customizable keys than anything else.

i hear you...as i look for a 360+hd-rom = good gaming + hd dvds for a excellent price...but i will still have a pc too for gaming. it is about f*cking time 🙂

Well PS3 has regular USB ports. So you can plug in a normal usb mouse and keyboard, but I don't know if they allow 'third party peripherials' to be used like that.

edit:

Looks like PS3 supports it. But its up to game makers to choose to weither or not to allow it into the game, so in game support will be hit or miss.

For instance 'Resistance: Fall of man' allows you to use it in chat, but not in the actual game.

i'd go with a controller for fighting games... it's a pain to do half circles with keys.

Why would you want to use the arrow keys anyways. There's a lot more keys that are easily accessible from wasd (or esdf if you're that kinda person).
