As most of you know Xfire is a pc related program used by gamers, is a messaging program that allows us to see what others are playing, join if we have the same game,
give information about the specific server were in, and message while in game without having to alt+tab out of it
for those of you who havent heard of it xfire.com (or .net) try either

i think we should have a sticky for it

illstart off

xfire = xxfuryoffivexx

games mostly played =COD4,UT2004,Guild Wars, and a ton more fps titles

Viacom does own it now, but their subsidiary MTV Games officially runs it. And my tag is potato28, I play too much CSS and TF2.

I wish you could make it not default to enable xfire in all games, instead of making you choose each individual game.

It regularly causes CSS to crash when in-game is enabled. It also used to crash World of Warcraft.

I use it but haven't since I've started playing more steam games then anything else because of steam friends. Speaking of which, has anyone seen the bug in friends that came with the last patch? It makes the friends list and chat windows stick over your game and the only way to remove it is to exit. (in TF2)

I use to use it regularly when I played Halo CE a tonne, but ever since Steam Friends came about, I mainly just stick with that.

I was about to reinstall it the other day and forgot, maybe I'll do so now.

I had constant Xfire crashes - in pretty much all my games - before I reformatted. I haven't had a single one in the ~two months since then. Not sure if it was just a random conflict of installs or some other program. FWIW I had Xfire running smoothly for about a year before the crashes started.

The random spree of crashing of every single game you tried to play with in-game? I fixed it... sort of. Before this reformat I just disabled the in-game, but then once they brought out the XIG 2.0 the in-game stopped and it crashed. Reformat, perfectly fine.

I haven't been gaming much at all lately though, due to work. I guess that's a good thing though as I spent way too much time playing COD4.

See the top four games i play?

Ignore CoH; that's some stupid bug that added craploads of hours when the game wasn't even running.

But UT2k4, Ut3, & GRID...hit me up if you wanna play those.
Or PK or Q4.

Unfortunately, Steam doesn't support nearly as many games as Xfire does.

Still, Steam > Xfire.
