No problem 🙂 .

I don't know what's going on with Nintendo anymore. I have a Gamecube (lookin' forward to the new Zelda!), but frankly, the Revolution frightens me. What's with the controller? They're definitely betting the farm on a long shot!

I believe the countdown on ATI's site will be an announcement of their exit strategy and bankruptcy filings to the shareholders....

J/K....... But seriously folks. Somethings going on there over at ATI and it aint about hardware. Too many things going wrong in such a short period of time for one company.
I would also at least expect major layoffs and downsizing. I know everyone thinks that a big company like ATI is far from the brink of extinction and it is not possible for them to dissappear, but man, I have to say they are in piss poor shape. I hope R520 is not a paper launch, I truly dont. Because if it is, their stocks will probably be reduced to junk.
Why? Because the stockholders DO NOT LIKE TO BE LIED TO and want to have at least a "little" faith in the company they invest in. This crossfire/crapfire/fartburner paper launch amazed me.

yer, that nu zelda should be good by the clips i seen.......

OMG did the Nvidia troll boys find this thread yet? Ati is full of crooks and bunglers and is dying. Massive layoffs, the stock will plummet and all that will be left of this forum is a few trolls with no one to stir up. Oh well maybe Intel will release a ground breaking cpu and they can migrate.

ATi still holds the largest share of the graphics business so methinks you are exaggerating about how poor of shape they're in. For the holiday season they'll have a complete lineup of next-gen tech video cards so I think they'll do quite well. If you really think they're doing that bad, why not put your money where your mouth is and sell their stock short?

Actually Crossfire has some good points about it and the motherboards are fast. Really why would they release the boards without the r520 master and slave card available? If by Christmas they don't have the new cards and Crossfire up and running - Ati will likely drop out of the high end market. On the other hand if by Christmas they have the r580 and crossfire on the shelves - they will own the high end market. Likely neither scenario will happen - anyways we will soon see what their mid range can do. I certainly hope it doesn't flop - as I would just have to buy an xbox and dump computer gaming. Would be difficult to buy a card reccommended by the troll. 🙁

Come on what was ATI before the R300? Why does it surprise people when that design is at its absolute limits ATI is again bungling around like a company that has no direction, no clue, and no product?

What they need to focus on now is what company to buy in order to get their next 3 generations of GPUs.

Yeah, I mentioned that people could never think it would be possible for that to happen to a huge company. It wasn't a troll post ronnn, it's "looking" like a constant downhill ride for ATI right now, thats what we are all seeing and I commented on it. So WTF is you're problem? This time?

Ummm, what? Put my money where my mouth is? Where should I place this money? Surely you don't mean ATI stock.

Maybe because they said they would? 😕

Christmas??!?! LOL "Be calm- we'll have product this year yet! There are 11 weeks to go before we should OFFICIALLY consider it a "paper lauch" or "problem" because we all know the only deadline they have to meet is Santa's!"

On the other hand if by Christmas they have the r580 and crossfire on the shelves - they will own the high end market.
Why? Because Santa has an exclusive deal with Orton?

Kris Kringle: Now Dave, you know the boys and girls are expecting a fast video card this Christmas! Don't make me shop in America! Hohohoho!
David Orton: Don't you worry Santa! This years R300 has SM3 and the TAA we've been holding back since last year!"

LOL
So you would give up computer gaming and go console because of your dislike of me or nVidia? LOL again.
Ever heard the saying "Cutting off your nose to spite your face"?

Well, at least you have good entertainment value. 😉

For you MORPH: Crossfire leaves vapor trails.

By the end of the year Crossfire boards and cards will be shipping and the very tiny percentage of people who are interested in that sort of thing will be happy. The rest of us just want to get our hands on some R520 cards and we'll have them very soon. The Crossfire problems will certainly not have any huge reurcussions to ATI's bottom line. ATI knows that they are not going to capture the motherboard market overnight. That's going to be a long, slow process. ATI's not going anywhere, despite all your gloomy predictions. They had a rough year but they'll recover just fine.

Now don't be reasonable, has little place here for the bulk of the time.

Just to add on to what I said above. Nvidia already had a large motherboard business so SLI was a great move for them because it helps them sell more motherboards and at higher prices. ATI sells very few motherboards so Crossfire is not so important to their bottom line and not such a high priority.

Ah, so it's OK to paper launch the high end niche market stuff because it doesn't matter anyway?

I see.

What about to all the people patiently waiting for it through multiple paper launches?

So what, that is the rant that started all this? Am I supposed to get indignant? As I said before, I just personally don't see the hurry or the importance. Just be a waste of money to produce these boards that no one will buy. When the r520 comes out and if it is the fastest - especially at the 3dmark I have the best computer contest - or better yet the r580 - they will sell. The big issue now for Ati is a successful launch that leaves them with good sales in at least the mid range area. Better yet would be a good old ass kicking of the gtx, but for us consumers a nice competitive balance is best. Or maybe you are right and Ati is doomed and all of us who have read the tea leaves and feel something nice is on the way are really dumb and not really smart like you.

Why do so many people in the video forum desire so much to pay out the a$$ for stagnant hardware? And if you don't think either of the 'big dogs' wouldn't take full advantage of a monopoly, it is quite possible that you have NO idea how capitalism works...

Ati fanbois need Nvidia, and Nvidia fanbois need Ati, otherwise bang for the buck means jack.
SHEESH!

I agree completely with most of your statement, except for your last sentence. It's a shame that ATI isn't providing serious competition any longer. What would you have us do, pretend that they are?

Just because we are calling ATI to the carpet when they deserve it doesn't mean that most of us wouldn't buy ATi if they could actually get a competing product out the door.
