XFI Linux drivers!

There was a long blurb about microsoft drm software in that license. I'm pretty sure that's a big DO NOT WANT. People will care when they post documentation so that the open source community can write their own drivers.

Well I'll be damned. There was that one 64bit release last year, but I wasn't expecting anything else. The timing is good, I was just about to do some tinkering with Ubuntu.

Holy Macaroni. Didn't see this one coming. Finally I'll be able to install Ubuntu in my machine outside a Virtual Machine.

Yeah, I was definitely surprised to see that. I'm going to give it a shot this weekend. I've been checking on and off for months.

They support translating EAX calls from DirectSound games running via WINE into OpenAL? (that is asking a bit much)

This driver is like ATi's first driver effort in Linux, almost impossible to install, it fails, and it doesn't tell you in which of checked modules it did fail.

Now they say they tested it under SUSE 10.3 which I have, still won't compile.. There's no documentation what this driver actually needs for installation to succeed.
