This is a nice find. Out of stock in my area but I am searching around in other areas. An idea would be to call them and see if they can find it at this price from IM. Time and time again I find that if I can find the IM number they will have it available when the Staples number is not available.

Also, anyone doing this should look for a price match deal.

I called a special area that has never been out of stock on a Staples deal, too.
Out of stock. A search on Mysimon came up with only one for a price match at over 200. I am not very good with searches, though. The only other trick to try is the IM number.

Wow this is a good price, I would only buy this to use as a fax machine and to possibly use the copier, scan and print functions.

I purchased the Canon MultiPASS C530 for $110, which received way better reviews.

Then again who really gives a f*ck for only $60, great deal!

freeman - Ouch, you got me there. Guess I should have checked the specs first *s*.

I chose the Canon over the Xerox based on it's favoriable reviews from Epinions, CNet, and PCMagazine (Canon C530/Xerox 480CX).

Features, speed, memory, resolution oh yeah and PRICE wise it seems that the Xerox beats the Canon. I still think $110 for a Canon C530 fax machine isn't that bad.

The reviews more than anything helped me to decide between the Canon and the Xerox.

Hey rossman, does the canon require additional inkjet(s) to print just monochrome (black and white, not color)? I went to canon's page...

it said...

"Number of Nozzles:

Also, when I add the canon to my cart at staples, it says that the two optional inkjet cartridges are required...do you really need them?

stonerdave - To be honest I have no clue, I haven't opened my box yet. I'm waiting to hear from some people in the UseNet groups how successfully they have gotten the Windows2000 drivers to work with this. If the Windows2000 drivers work flawlessly then I'll tear in and set it up soon.

The box says it comes with ink already provided.
