First hot deal for me. I was walking around Sams yesterday while at my parents house and came across the Xerox Workcentre XL2120 Digital Copier and Laser Printer for $149. It prints at 12PPM and copies at 12CPM. I haven't seen it cheaper anywhere on the net. Lowest price I found it for was for $399.

I'm using it now and it's a great machine for an awesome price! I saw only one at the Sams I was at plus the display model. Hope you all can find more...

Wow. A laser printer/copier for only $150 is hot. The inkjet one's normally go for $200 upwards.

shoot, finding a laser printer for under $200 is a great deal. Anybody know how much drum/toner units cost? Whas it a normal laser w/ tray at bottom? or one those straight-paper-path type. Also, how does it make copies?

I think your thread title is misleading, If I am not mistaken this printer/copier is ink-jet not laser.

I just did a search at Xerox.com for the XL2120 and it seems to be a laser printer. link

kp1126,
it has a 250 sheet paper bin underneath. It makes copies like any other copier though. I'm not sure what you're asking there. I think Sam's mis-priced the copier because the toner's I think go for $150.

And it is a laser printer and not an inkjet.

My guess is that they are closing them out. I was in my local Sam's about 2 months ago, $199 then. Went back about 2 weeks ago, all gone.

Xerox is getting out of the low-end printer market. They have been losing their shirts.
While this is a good price, I think you will have problems getting drivers in the future for the printer.

Something to think about

Yep, just like it's hard to get drivers for your Voodoo video card for new OS's....ooops wait a sec

I really don't think that excuse of not being able to get drivers for future OS's is a valid argument. You have to live in the here and now. My wife won't be upgrading from 98 anytime soon and the printer/copier will work for several years. This printer has drivers for XP as well as several other OS's. It works great in 2000, which I use, and in 98.

I have one (actually two now) of the Xerox XD125f copiers. I don't use it as a printer since it is a "Windows" printer and doesn't like being on an Intel Print server. The copier has been a workhorse for my spouse's business and has excellent quality and speed. The toner would have been expensive without this Hot Deals forum - it retails for $179 for 6000 page toner. I believe the XL series was designed for "more cost efficient" toner - whatever that means. I paid around $500 for the first one (even with pricematching, MIR and coupon :)). The second one is sitting on a shelf - picked up the XD100f (same machine without document feeder when Staples had them for $200-$40). The $150 price is a hot deal for this copier series - but if you really just want a printer for the PC, I've seen equally good printer deals - many here at AnandTech.

Is it true that I can't order it online? If I can, does anyone got a link?

How much does a toner now cost for this model?

As in an above post, I saw this for $199 several months ago, and I haven't seen it at Sams since. Definitely a closeout item.

Would you please let me know which store have this, with possible phone number? or store ID?

I talked to local Sam's club, it's still $199. But the manager aggree to match it if I could find out which store have that for $149.

And if you could could you scan the receipt and send to me : vyang@ccim.org

Greatly appreciated.

AmigaMan, can you post the sku # from your receipt. This would help alot. If they don't have them on display, they can check the computer for stock.

I bought the printer at the Sam's Club in Goldsboro, NC. I don't know the store number but it should be on the receipt right? I have the receipt at home and will get the store number and SKU for you all. Alas, I have no scanner so I cannot scan it for you :(
But even at $199 I think it's still a great deal.

No it's not a scanner, it's a laser printer and a copier. Did you have problems reading the thread title?

Thank you for your information.

The printer/copier is very good at this price. It doesn't make any sense if they add black/white scanning function. Only userful functions in this multi-functional machines are faxing. But I will prefer not to leave them on all the time, and I still prefer thermol paper fax better.

:)

AmigaMan, can you just post the sku #? I personally don't need a scan of the receipt but I would like the item #.
