EPYC Rome laying waste to Xeons on less than fair backgrounds(Intel's Optimized AVX2 and AVX-512 )...
They are about even if you compare the price per core on 3900X(12C/24T) and Epyc 7702P(64C/128T), it's Intel that Quadruple Xeon Prices compared to the already expensive desktop partYeah but one thing I am noticing right off the bat is, on the server side of things everything is is double or triple the cost of what standard desktop prices are.
Except my 14 core Xeons will not sell, even at $200 each ! Its been months, and I get offers for $100 for them, other than that, no action. And the price above is twice for EPYC, but the point is that Xeons are 4 times the price. Not really.. the 7702p is 5.333 times the amount of cores of the 3900x at $500 so 5.333 x $500 = $2666.5.
So the 7702p should be around $2666 not $5500!!
Also Intel has always price gouged consumers even from the beginning of there existence.
The only good thing I like about Intel is you can get super duper cheapo high core count Xeons off ebay for pennies on the dollar...
Cant deny I loved me some e5-2670's and 80's not all that long ago!!
