Only way this has a point is if your going to use the 128GB RAM, answer is No. you will never exceed 8GB . right there one of reasons why server mobos are soo expensive.

Seen plenty of people use Xeons for gaming. I "heard" that the silicon is healthier so they OC better....but I don't know about that. Anyway, I don't see an issue. Build what you feel like.
