How Xeon 3110 will handle BF3. It has come at price point where I can efford it:wub:
I think my Place / HTPC is may be out of date.
My Toy computer is
Xeon 3110 (E8400)
4 Gig
6970 GPU
Win 7 64 SP1
So people who play this game; what you all think ?

Badly.

Looking around it gets ~40-70 fps, most of those benches are probably single player so multiplayer 64 players map will likely be pretty unpleasant.

BF3 likes quads.

I guess your CPU would end up at the bottom just above the Phenom II x2. If this benchmark can be trusted is another question.

So 6970 Won't help ?
Is 35 FPS is not playable
Res would be 1920 X 1080

Notice in that chart that all of those CPUs are paired with a GTX690.

It's up to you to decide whether 35fps is playable or not. Buying a modern CPU would give you a 3-4x performance improvement in BF3.

Well I bought the game; Where I can get the info about this
Like how do you play and stuff.
I would like to play small Skmirsh type of Game...... (Like Command and Conquer) <-- lack of theorf
THank Mir

apparently BF3 will also suffer with a lot of stuttering when being played on dual cores, even if it will give an average of 30 fps+

I try to play it, but getting stuck at train; where some body keep blowing the train,
Is there any way I can run the benchmark ?

You are talking about the single player campaign I presume? I think the sequence you are talking about is timed, be quick or be dead.

There is no built in benchmark.

I had a e8200@e8400 speeds and well singleplayer was playable but not to enjoyable and well multiplayer just sucked.

I wouldn't even bother playing it online without at least a core i3 2100 at bare minimum,i upgraded to the i3 2100 at one point from that e8200,it made a tremendous difference and its my bare recommendation on a budget if you want a good BF3 experience.

The newer i3 series would be better sought after but used and on a budget,a h61+i3 would be worlds better over that core 2 duo,i know from experience and match it with a 6870/7700/gtx460/gtx560 and its a well balanced system.

I played little bit able come through from train and fighting in some city.
Its addicting..........
I do have another system I can play, where I have AMD Phenom II 1055T with 8 Gig Mem and 7970 with Win 7 pro 64 Bit.
At this point I don't even know how to even play the game.
Looks like its a US miltry funded first person shooter game 😀
Where you just shoot at PLA errr rrr........
Comand and Concour was better........ o well
I am going to keep my hands off cause...... I can see I would be spending good 3 -4 hrs easily

I owned a Xeon 3110 the past year and while it ran Batman:AC just fine I haven't even bothered with BF3.

I just upgraded to a Xeon X3360 and plan to purchase it soon, however.
