Xenon headlights?

I was thinking about getting some Xenon headlamps for my car, and I found this site that seems to be selling what I'm looking for. My car's manual says that the headlights are "HB2 60/55W" so it looks like the "H4-P43t" ones on that site are the ones that would fit. Does anyone have any experience with doing stuff like this or has anyone ever bought anything from that site before? Thanks in advance.

Oh, one more thing... Don't even start with the riceboy comments, they're just freaking headlights

After checking the site again, these are NOT real xenons... These are xenon style Halogen bulbs... Real xenons need a seperate ballast, the whole kit usually runs about 400-500....

Those "blue bulbs" are the ones that give people with real xenon headlamps bad names. Real xenon lamps don't use a filament system. Instead it is a bulb filled with xenon gas ignited by an electric arc. The color which is actually closer to white does not come from being tinted. Overall they use less power, around 35w, than conventional halogen or those overwattage bulbs. Despite what many sites tell you, most of those fake HID bulbs are illegal for use on public roads.

To fit your car with real HID/Xenon headlamps cost around $1,200 to $2,500 because of the need for new bulbs, reflectors, electric ballast, and auto leveling system.

Ahhh.. well damn. I was wondering why they were so cheap...
I might end up getting some anyway since it looks like they have that bright white-blue "xenon effect", as long as I can find out if they will work fine and be easy to install (hopefully just like replacing a normal headlamp).

how big is the difference between getting the whole system changed to xenon, and these xenon-type bulbs? i have seen replacement "xenon" bulbs at stores and they are quit a bit more expensive then the prices on this site. what is the general consesus?

If you have plastic reflectors do not use overwattage bulbs. Overwattage bulbs can (and often do) melt the plastic reflectors, which results in a distorted and almost useless beam pattern. For better vision you are better off buying Sylvania "Xtra-vision" bulbs (pink and black packaging). The Sylvania bulbs are an optimised non-overwatt bulb that gets more light from the same amount of power. Fake xenon bulbs are tinted to gain the effect and tinting, by definition, decreases total light output. Fake xenon bulbs will be dimmer than normal untinted bulbs.

There is no comparision. Any "replacement" bulb is not gonna look like a real xenon, ever...

If you do opt to get real xenon's... Get the 6000k Stage 2, they look sweeter IMO... Check em out here

The ones that they are selling there are the same wattage as the bulbs in my car right now (according to the manual). Will these things still get hotter or is that only if I get higher wattage ones? (which I don't plan on doing)

Also, are these things street legal, as long as they are rated at the same wattage as my current bulbs?

I had a VW Rabbit and I installed Aircraft landing lights in the grill and had them operated by a switch. The place I bought them said that you shouldn't turn them on at anything under 35mph cause they will overhead and burn out They were WAY too bright for use on the roads even in rural areas. They lit up the road so bright you couldn't see other cars lights from around corners or over hills.

You can get them at most places that sell tractor trailer parts since alot of truckers use them. They are cheap as dirt, like $12 a sealed unit, and they make your Xenon lights look dim.

No offence but that really scares me, and tells me why the roads seem to have deralicts all over it... I drive to Blackhawk (no street lights) all year round and don't even use my brights... not bragging or anything but I do have a perfect driving record to back it up also.. even down to zero parking tickets to boot.
