I've seen on Rambus.com some upcoming system memory. It looks as if there may be a return of something reminiscent of the old Rambus memory from a few years back. Correct me if I am wrong, I'm also looking to hear news from somewhere else about this...

Anyways, I do believe this RAM is used in consoles. So, it's not "upcoming", it's already out there. As for desktop computers, I see JEDEC ruling for the foreseeable future. I think RAMBUS just left too bad of a taste in manufacturer's mouths.

Yes, i think i seen its used in the PS3!? not sure exactly, but interesting though...

It is used in the playstation 3.

And a substantial amount of rambus bus technology is also used in the PS3, as well as some licensed rambus tech in the Cell Broadband Engine.

Hence their stock doing well lately despite them running out of DDR makers to sue 😛

They're only suing three major DDR players - Samsung, Hynix and Micron. Talk about a bunch of corrupt DDR makers.

I know Rambus has a bad rap due to its sue-happy image, but if your tech is being used without royalties being paid, you need to sue.

technically, those companies were CONVICTED by federal court of forming an illigal price fixing cartel, TWICE, and each time they milked off the market, and the second time they also killed rambus, via illigal methods... the tiny compensation rambus got via lawsuits is nothing compared to where they should be.

Also, they paid some fines...

It is actually cheaper to break the law and pay the fine than it is to play legit (that is, do dishonest but legal things).
