I absolutely love Xco:UFO as far as vintage games go, but my Athlon 650 runs it way too fast! (My Celery 366@550 did used to be that bad!).

I need a program that will SUCCESSFULLY slow the damn thing.

Suggestions...

man, I can't even imagine how fast that would run. On my k6-233 it was WAYYYY too fast. Wing commander was like that as well.

While I don't remember exact names, go to PCgamer.com. They released a CD in their last issue or two that had old games such as these. They at least mention the pieces of software you could use to slow down your computer.

RadMan have you gone into options & set all the settings to the slowest(great game)btw I`m going to reinstall it on my T-bird 900 mhz system soon.

I don't think changing setting would do any good... I also love that game, but it was running too damn fast even for my Celeron 333A.

Not sure if this would help, but I remember playing it again when the x:com collectors edit came out (couldnt get the original to work cuz I didnt have dos drivers for all my perif). In options I remember I had to set everything to the slowest possible. It became playable at that point, tho now that I've upgraded my system its probably too fast now.

You could always try underclocking your system =) Other than that there is some program like slowdown or something that eats up processor cycles. I'll see if I can find it again.

I can't get Moslo to work with Xcom. Turbo works ok. The mouse is a bit jittery and the globe still rotates pretty quick.

I'll try to dig up CPU Killer and give it a shot!
