xcalib help

I've been using xcalib to handle the gamma adjustment for my DS-263N monitor for a while now, but I am now trying to add a second monitor to the setup without changing the gamma being applied only to the primary panel, and I can't find good information on getting that done. What I have read should work does not, and I am not sure how to proceed.
Here is what I have:

"D:\monitor and system items\xcalib.exe -s 0 C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color\DS-263N.icc" does nothing. Substituting -s 1 modifies my second monitor. When I boot, I can get my computer to apply the gamma settings to both simply by running the xcalib.exe file (in startup or just by hand), and I can clear the setting on the second monitor by using -s 1 -c, but this is not the ideal solution because the gamma will reset on the primary panel when I run something like World of Warcraft.

I need a real solution to this, where gamma adjustments are only applied to my primary screen and will stick, regardless of whether I have a second panel plugged in or not. Can anyone help?

Thanks a bunch.

I have a quattro at work and it allows me to load a .icc profile for each monitor individually. Let your program make the files but let the nVidia drivers load them. This may work, otherwise I am not familiar with the exact calibration software you are using so I'm not sure how much I can help.

Windows XP doesn't seem to allow that, but that wouldn't solve my problem anyway. What I am doing is using a small program that adjusts the gamma for everything in Windows, which otherwise Windows could not do. It uses the profile to find the gamma info and then applies it.

Actually that's somewhat incorrect. Yes, windows can't but the nvidia drivers can. What you are doing in these "small programs" is loading it into the video card LUT. You can load these into the drivers in the color sections of the nvidia drivers. There is a load option that you can load the .icc profiles created by a different program.

I see what you are saying. I can't get Windows to recognize that 2 monitors need 2 different profiles, but that wouldn't matter for the gamma situation.

My situation is a little different though I think. I don't want 2 profiles or anything like that. I just want to apply the gamma of 1 to *only* the primary monitor. xcalib doesn't actually make files or anything like that. It just uses my existing profile (that I got from someone online in the first place).

If there is a way to have nvidia software load profiles, lay it on me. That might solve the problem in a different but equally useful way. I can't find out how to do that though.

Thanks again. You've gotten me thinking about this from a different tilt at the very least, and maybe that will ultimately pay off.

You should be able to find this screen in your Nvidia drivers. If you click import you can load an .icc profile. It will only apply to the monitor you chose to adjust. I believe you can access this screen by right clicking on the screen you want to correct in display properties and choosing "color" from the menu that appears.

The page link gives a 500 Internal Server Error right now. I'll try it again tomorrow in case it's temporary but I figure it pays to let you know now as well.

Mine looks similar but has no import feature whatsoever. Is this card dependent or is there a new software version in the past 2 months that added this?

Must be a feature of the quaddro cards.

So when you go to display properties the monitor you want to change the gamma on is labeled 1?

EDIT: On the other hand here is someone with a 6800GT saying they had that feature:

It's also shown on the Lagom site:

If you haven't already change it to advanced mode in the color settings page and see if that option becomes available.

My control panel looks very similar to the pictures you provide with the notable exception of the import option. Everything else is basically the same. I could edit the gamma with the slidebar but that would not be nearly as accurate, so I am hesitant to do so.

The monitor I want the gamma correction for is indeed panel 1. Right now I've disconnected 2, but the TV I am using as a second would register as 2 in Windows.

I'm gonna try to revive this in case someone else is in the know about this mod or an alternative solution to achieve the same result.
