xbox360 split screening multiplayer

like another lcd or display while only using one console? like for halo 3 can you have the second player use another display instead of sharing the same one?

Unless I'm missing something, I don't even see how it would be possible. You would need a special cable or splitter and even then the software (game) would have to support it. I'm 99% sure that you will need a second Xbox if you want to play on two screens.

This would be an awesome feature to see in the future though, as I don't think it is that uncommon for people to have more than one display these days (everyone in this forum probably at least has a TV and a monitor).

Yeah, I think it was supposed to be a feature of the PS3 that got dropped well before launch.

HDMI -> one tv
Component -> other tv?

But it would seem that this is not possible, so it is a moot point

Its not possible

Well its possible to split the outputs but in the end all you would get is two outputs that are identical.

you were hoping that each person have their own full screen. Only way to do that is to get a second xbox 360 and play via system link. halo 3 supports it several other games do too.

It would have had to be built into the hardware and have 2 separate video outs, but it wasn't so not possible.
