Shoot, I just bought a 360 Pro this week at Fry's. Hopefully can get it pricematched after the price cut.

I've seen Wiis in stock pretty much everywhere in Dallas since LAST year, except for the holidays. Really depends on the market...but Dallas is huge and encompasses so many different communities surrounding too. It's not like Schmucktown, Whogivesafvckstate which gets an allowance of 10 Wii's a month to the local Best Buy.

Central NJ isn't exactly a podunk area, but they're not consistently stocked around here. I'll believe that Wiis are plentiful when I see them consistently available online. Amazon.com and Best Buy.com are both sold out.

Twin Cities MN, isn't quite Dallas either, but they are consistently sold out up here too. I have seen them in the store twice, and both times they were actively being purchased. Only once would I have had a chance to get one that way, and I think it would have involved fisticuffs...

It's the week of the 13th, actually.

Microsoft could be dropping the Arcade altogether, replacing it with the Premium, dropping the Elite to the Premium's price and introducing a new SKU.

We just don't know what's going to happen with anything other than the Premium right now.

Price drop has been long overdue, but I suppose that was large in part thanks to the RROD problem they had to deal with.

Should also just get rid of the Arcade unit.

Is this the premium with the Falcon board and hdmi?

Yes. And the next revision will be out in Aug/Sept that will have the 65nm CPU & GPU.

what do the japanese have against the xbox, is it strictly an anti-US thing? Do they not like our taste in software/ideas? Seems like it, yet, we eat their s*** up.

lol I know that seller, half his customers want refunds for RRoD.

I bought from Buy.com, is that who your refering to?

I thought it was ok because if it acts up you contact MS and they give you a newer version (referb)???

Why? 😕

I'm still waiting to see if this hardware revision is worthwhile. I have no faith in Microsoft's hardware at this point. I'll check back in another three months to see if the failure rate truly has declined (it's still too soon after the most recent hardware revision to tell for sure)

Maybe the revision would be like the PS3s move toward a cooler smaller unit thing. I would mind a slimmer xbox360, my desk is full enough as it is.

I believe both the PS3 and the 360 are moving to smaller innards. Not smaller cases. That probably won't happen until they both move to 45nm chips. The 360 has already moved to a smaller CPU. The next revision coming out in Aug/Sept reduces the size of the GPU.

Japanese people are taught early on to buy their own country's products. They do this because buying their own products helps themselves in the long run. They would gladly buy an inferior product (not saying that anything is actually inferior) at a higher cost than buy a foreign product.

In America...things are different...

Weak? They still sell 200k of these things every month, you think they are just going cut the price in half? This 14% price cut is pretty damned decent.

This is what I'm waiting for. Less noise, less heat, less power consumption. Finally making the 360 hardware more stable?

The Falcon chipset did all that already. The next chipset will just do it even more.

Leaked Info on 60GB HDDs - This is just MS selling the 60GB by itself. The 20GB HDD is going to be made extinct and the 120GB is going to get a $50 price drop to $149.99 (boo). Both the 60GB and 120GB HDDs are still grossly overpriced but this is confirmation that a 60GB 360 will be hitting soon.

Below is a portion of an email being sent out to GameStop and Blockbuster buyers (logistical people handling what the store actually stocks). The email has the complete details on the 60gb hard drive and what will happen to the 20gb and 120gb hard drives. Email follows:

With the introduction of the 60GB Pro console in July, we have research that suggests it is very important to have a 60GB stand alone Hard Drive to go along with it to allow the consumer a full range of choices and values. In late October/early November (exact date TBD but most likely last week in October or 1st week in November), we will ship the Xbox 360 60GB Hard Drive, tentatively called the ?Xbox 360 60GB LIVE Starter Pack?. This will be an excellent value price at and ERP of $99.99 with an 18% retail margin that contains:

· 60GB Hard Drive
· 3 Months of Xbox Live
· Xbox 360 Wired Headset
· Xbox 360 Ethernet Cable (same one that is included with Pro and Elite)

Positioning: For Xbox 360 Arcade and Core console owners, the Xbox 360 60GB Live Starter Pack offers all of the components to get onto Xbox LIVE and jump in to on line multiplayer gaming and Marketplace content downloads at an incredible value.

With the end of life of the 20GB Hard Drive and the price drop of the 120GB Hard Drive to $149.99 in September, this new 60GB hard drive will fit very well into our ?Choice and Value? pillar and will fit nicely into our accessory line up. Exact SKU/UPC/Set up info will come soon and once we nail down the exact MSD, I will let you all know immediately.

I'm still trying to figure out what is going on here. Is the 360 20GB going to be dropped by $50 and the 60GB introduced at $349.99? That would leave the Elite unchanged because it would have no where to move with the 60GB so close to its price. What happens with the Arcade? Dropped price or dropped altogether?

I'd rather see the 60GB introduced at $299.99 and the Elite get a price drop. MS needs to have the 360 competitive for the holidays and I can't see that happening at these price points if the 20GB is going to be allowed to end its run at $299.99 and then the 60GB is sitting at $349.99.

Bump for those who can't see page 2.

I'd be excited but I have way too many unplayed games to care, and Jade Empire for PC just joined the stack today. Wake me up when Jasper 360 is in stores 🙂

I'll look at the 360 once the final internal hardware revision has been and and determined to be sound and the upfront goes a bit lower so the total price is more in line with others.
