There is a wireless adapter, but it's absurdly expensive...take the hit and just run the cable. Also, the 360 is getting a price drop on the 12th, so wait to buy until then.

I would go with a Xbox since you already have a older ipod and you can do alot more with the Xbox. On the other hand the current 360 have a decent failure rate.

There's an ethernet port. What i would do is buy a wireless router, and use that to bridge to your other router. That way you can even plug in other network devices into it (ie HTPC).

Both are likely to die four to six months after you buy it since iPods don't like to go jogging (Remember, there's a HDD in there) and the 360s are built like crap, so buy whatever you think will give you the most enjoyment within that time.

Unless you get the iPod nano, that is. They can take a crazy amount of damage and still work.

guess you are unaware of the 3 year warranty on xbox 360's now, so downtime is just a month or so to get a replacement at no charge.

It's still annoying to have something die on you less than a year after you bought it, no matter how good the warranty is.

Well I'd say hold off on an iPod at the moment. There's rumors going around that a possible new model will be announced next week. If it isn't, I'd imagine we'll have something announced before christmas.

I think you should go with the 360. You'll get a lot more enjoyment out of that in my opinion. You already have an iPod, and unless you desperately need more space or if your current one is dying, why get a new one?

Oh, and there is going to be a 360 price drop next week (most likely) so don't buy before then if you decide to take that route.

The reason for wanting a new ipod, is that it is bulky for me to wear on my arm with the armband, and with the big muscles, it is kind of annoying.

What about a PS3 for an option? Or is the 360 still better.

The PS3 is just limited right now as far as games. and for the cost of the ps3 you can get the iPod & a 360.

So I am guessing since you want something less bulky/for jogging then you are interested in the Nano and not the full size iPod?

Well, if you're considering getting a PS3, why not just get the premium 360 when it drops to $349, and get a 2GB Nano? Just a bit more expensive than a single PS3.
