XBox360 a failure in progress

Just got me a XBox360 2 weeks ago, After 1 week, It failed !(GPU artifacts), So I got a 2nd one on Monday, It failed Today !! (Reading on the web and one guy was on his 6th one and still he wasnt feeling good about it.)

Mnfr. Date - On my first one was 2-03-06

2nd one was 3-08-06.

If you own a XBox360 It will FAIL !! Hands Down !!! (Just a matter of time.)

(The reason is Overheating ! Very bad like I said the design Sucks Balls !, LoL)

So im not gonna be a 6th xbox fan so Im gonna wait for PS3 !

Good going M$ !
 
Ah yes, 2 people have bad luck and suddenly "M$" is the devil. The PS2 never had any issues like DRE riiiight?

wow, you must be extremely unlucky. i don't know anyone who has had a xbox 360 fail on them and some were bought at launch. granted i know they have problems, but this sounds more like fanboi trolling. ps3? yeah right, let me take out a second mortgage. i'll take my chances and enjoy killing zombies, thanks.

and as ichigo said, this doesn't sound like a software thread to me.
 
Yea, some people are just unlucky like me and my 3 failing 7900GT's.

In fact the problem is actually limited to a EXTREAMLY SMALL amount of people, just like the 7900GT. The only problem is you here almost all the people who have problems, and none of the people that don't have problems.

Just RMA it (or whatever you do with it) again and cross your fingers.
 
garikfox: it could be a localized problem with your electricity, and your residence is really hot -- all contributing to the death of your electronic.

or maybe you just looked at it wrong, to which it got mad, and wanted to spite you, like the playa who tried to uninstall oblivion from his harddrive box thingy.
 
I had an xbox 360 from day one and none have failed ;(

don't tell me you give your xbox 360 back because you one little freeze , i have had many freeze but i never sent it to warranty 🙁 just restart and i back to normal. Some games like Oblivion or Other crappy sports game have bugs that developer refuse to fix because they are lazy asshole.

Anyways what happened to your 2nd xbox 360 :?

Playstation will the buggiest hardware of the year 🙂 you can thanks blu-ray and Cell. Anyways i will get my Playstation 3 , 2 days before launch 🙂

Full Auto 2 = terrible game
Genji 2 = another Hack and slash crap
Resistance Fall of Man = Call of duty but with alien instead of nazi
Warhawk = Most decent PS3 game for 06


You can enjoy your what every PS3 launch title while i play Gears of War , Dead Rising , Forza 2 , Splinter Cell Double Agent , Just Cause , Frame City Killer & Call of duty 3.
 
That's odd... I have 4 friends with one (plus myself) and the only one that failed was the one that got pushed off the counter by a 5 year old. Not plugging anything in to the wall helps... get a power regulator for anything thats expensive. If you cover up your vents, it is going to overheat. You can test this by taking all the fans out of your PC and seeing how long it lasts 😉
 
It's all about the airflow. Too many people cram it up in their entertainment center like it's a DVD player with none to very little airflow and that simply will not work... it's like taking your full tower PC and sealing it up in a cardboard box and expecting it not to overheat.

My brother in law has his in his custom built entertainment center with plenty of airflow + a SilenX 120mm fan moving air around in addition to an Intercooler attached to the 360... granted just the 120mm fan worked fine, but he insisted on the intercooler. 😉

I have to agree. If I had two 360s fail on me, I'd start to wonder if it was something I was doing.
 
Like others here, I have a launch day 360 and it has been working perfectly. The stand my 360 is sitting on is open on all sides and the Xbox has over a foot of clearance between itself and the shelf above. The power block isn't sitting on carpet and it too has lots of clearance on all sides. Personally, I'm convinced that anyone having overheating issues has simply placed their 360s poorly.

I'm not saying that the 360 is a perfect design, far from it. It could obviously have a better cooling design since it clearly runs close to the edge, but there is no reason to push it past that edge. Mine has never overheated.
 
Although I would never buy a system until it's at least been out a year minimum, I think you just got unlucky or like some have said the system was just not staying cool. But I do predict laser failure to alot of launch systems by early 2007. For ppl who use theirs often.

What fails is YOU. Two xbox360s fail, common denominator: GARIKFOX. My launch-day 360 works great, I even left it on overnight once (forgot I was downloading a demo). It was also on all day long at my going-away party, people were playing PGR on and off during the whole thing.

Get it out of the shelf with an inch on each side, and they might live longer then an hour.
 
I had a X360 for about 2 months. Sometimes it would have problem reading Oblivion. Since I don't play it that much, I sold it.
 
Love my 360. It sits right beside my 50 plasma...it's got plenty of room to breath. I'll get an extended warranty just before my 3 months factory is up just in case.
