I thought I heard somewhere that Xbox will incorporate HyT (LDT) as a standard bus... correct me if I'm wrong. The place I heard that (dont remember where) said it was quoted from someone at nVidia...

I think it was mentioned with the AMD LDT press release article.

I wonder if its in NVidias motherboard chipset.

LDT is only AMD motherboard design if I remember correctly. in other words, with XBOX running a P3, I'd have to say that LDT is out of the question, PERIOD.

Actually both NVidia and MS have announced that the XBox will use AMD's LDT (Lighting Data Transport/Hypertransport).
As for that article, it seemed to be regurgitating much of what is already known. And the lack of an AGP bus doesnt inherently make a console faster than a PC. If that was true then an old Super Nintendo should be beating our PC's, while the PS2 and the like should be far better. I don't put much faith in how accurate the article is, especially since the XBox has yet to be released so no one knows how it will really perform.

I thought AMD said they where willing to lisence there tech to everyone. Even chipzilla where it really counts.

No one is going to make LDT a standard for devices till the market leader adopts it.

:-O

my bad, I assumed too much!

If what you say is true, it's a VERY WISE move for AMD! Open Source is a good thing!
