My friend and I both have xboxs and one day we decided to link them, whats the difference between an Ethernet Chord, and a Microsoft System link chord, they look the same. We tried an ethernet and it didnt work, so we went out and bought the actual chord. Its fun lol

i believe you can use a crossover cable and it will work. Just a different ordering of an ethernet cable. How much was the link cable? Last time i checked MS was charging like 10 bucks more than what you could get a normal crossover cable for, like bastards.

system link cord is just a crossover cable. they take about 2 minutes to make if you have a crimper. the only difference between a patch cable and a crossover cable is the transfer pairs are switched.
