Got it. I just thought HT was the normal name because it's been incorporated in their CPUs for long time. Didn't realize that SMT = HT. Good to know! SMT seems to be an industry name.

Guess I could've been more clear, but glad that you got it now. SMT is the "industry name" as you put it. Intel just trademarked HT to mean the same thing. Just like Intel calls it's cache SmartCache and AMD calls their L2 + L3 GameCache. Or how ibuprofen is Advil/Motrin. I'm sure you get the idea.

Or if you go back further the Pentium 4 was "Netburst" and the Athlon XP featured "QuantiSpeed Architecture". Blame marketing for creating buzzwords :D .

Hyperthreading is Intel's marketing name for SMT.

Hyperthreading is SMT.

Looks like their partnership with AMD is a win for the xbox. Can't wait to see what happens this fall.

Depends.

Sony might make it a bigger win for them like PS4.

I also note they (MS) are persisting with their two tier memory, albeit reduced in difference this time around.

I didn't know any TVs did 1440p, I thought they all just jumped to 4K. Is that 120 Hz native refresh? A lot of TVs use junk marketing numbers for their refresh rates and are actually natively 60 Hz.
