Xbox question!!

okay im sorry if i posted in the wrong forum but this question needs answering......

Im from Australia and post in some game server forums when i came along to a thread in which a guy claimed he modded the Xbox fully and did this:

Got my hands on an X-Box brand new BIOS and after messing with it for 2 days with my electronics freak friend and business partner (the credit goes to him, I'm just in for bragging rights), we managed to mod the hell out of it:

* Plays any game, from any region, original or copied
* Plays any DVD from any region and copy DVD's
* Replaced the HDD with an 80 Gb and transfered a ****load of games on it that can now be played straght off the HDD, without the need to load the CD/DVD!
* Networked it and we could have up to 16 X-Boxes playing Halo on the network/internet (if we could afford them...)

i replied and said i was sceptical because i havent heard anyone do this before. so after some discussion he finally posted some pics here is what he said with the pics:

1.First one is the one showing the 40 Gb HDD installed instead of the measly 8Gb that the X-Box came with.

2.The X-Box with the EvolutionX bios and menu system.

3.A close-up of the screen showing some of the games loaded on the HDD.

4.Selecting a game to play off the HDD (no CD, I left the tray opened intentionally).

5.Playing the Simpsons off the HDD without the CD...

And lastly, to answer the $1000.00 question: How did we manage to transfer the games to the HDD... Drum roll... We ftp'd them from the computer we ripped them onto!

so what do you guys think?? is he legit and is this possible????? im still a bit sceptical with the pics and thought you guys would know best if it was a fake or real?????

this is done by replacing the onboard bios of the mod chip with the evo-x bios to allow for larger HD support

This is done either with booting from a cd-rw/dvd-r with evo-x on it or having evo-x installed directly to the HD

This is through the xbox media player that was developed. Its in beta right now and the audo does not stay in sync.

evo-x will do this for you.


You've gotta have a mod chip fitted into the xbox to use evo-x...

 
first of all kronik, you do realise that u stole the name of the wackest tag team ever. plus this dude is not real he could not have possibly did all of those things. he may have switched hard drives but i seriously doubt all of his other claims. plus even if he did do all of those things you wouldnt be able to do anything close to that.

umm no i didnt know i stole someones name...

and thank you for your reply's guys. sorry about posting about modding Xbox's and stuff but i really was curious about this.

Dude what is your problem?

The "best" Xbox chip will be shipping to resellers at the end of this month it is called the X-ecuter & will be $40.

I have a X-tender 1.1 running on mines & am happy with it so I dont plan to upgrade.

btw, everything MrHappyMonkey said is FACT!

I have a X-tender 1.1 running on mines & am happy with it so I dont plan to upgrade.

Theres this guy I met that will mod your xbox for you for £90 ~ $135 so it will play all region dvd, games and backup games. Don't know about the upgrade of the HD or the ripping of games on to the HD though.......

Yes this is true also, They will be be able to import ALMOST any emu out for the PC to Xbox, The N64 one looks sweeeeeeet.

Thanks for the links, I live in England and this one guy install it for £80 and lives right in my town. But its the enigma chip.

So what does this one do?

1 Differance between the Enigmah-X & X-tender

Enigmah-X allows DVD reset (allows you to press eject and the xbox will not reset)
 
Chi boy i have no problem I've just stopped following the scene for all of about 5 weeks. And obviously i realize that the happy money was speaking the truth. if i didnt think it was the truth why would i give a flying rats a$$ about a mod chip. fscking piraters.

i know🙂 i have the n64 and snes emu's..they are damn near perfect now in most every way. if the xbox gets all the emus up it will truely be the killer console🙂
