The Xbox has been getting a bunch of PC ports, just play those on the PC with the 4200. Get the PS2 for RPGs and other exclusives. I haven't touched my Xbox is over a month.

Why not just Hook up your computer to the tv and and your 5.1 surround set up.

I spend my time on a lazy boy in front of a dual 21' monitor setup with surround sound.

Though, i dont use consoles because i suck with a controller and it seems like the games are not as pretty on consoles as they are on my computer

PS2, of course!

Why spend a lot of $$$ for vid cards/CPUs when your favorite RPGs are not even on the PC?

PS2 + RPG = HOURS OF FUN!

Actually... I've been meaning to check this out. I do have a DVI input on my TV and a DVI out on my Radeon... Hmmmm... ;)

What types of games do you play?

For FPSs or RTSs the PC is utterly dominant. If your big thing is either or some combination of those two pick yourself up a new vid card.

For racers, sports titles, fighting games, adventure games or platformer/hybrids the consoles are utterly dominant. If your big thing is a combination of those then pick up a XBox.

Between myself, my wife and my kids we have two XBoxs, three Cubes and a PS2(along with my rig, AXP 2500+/R9800Pro). I've been gaming a lot more on the PC lately mainly because the games I want to play are on the PC. Oddly enough, three of the games I've been sinking time in to on the PC are titles I already own on the XBox that are just plain better on the PC- Morrowind(DO NOT buy this for the XBox, buggiest console game ever by a long shot), KoTOR and Halo. The PC has superior visuals if you have the rig to push them, and for first person mouse/keyboard still owns.

If I was in your spot I would buy a XBox, but I really don't like the idea of any game coming out and not being able to play it. After I clear off my stack of PC games I'm trying to play through at least one of the XBoxs should be open so I can focus on the titles for that I've been meaning to get throug(Prince of Persia, Simpsons Hit&Run and Beyond Good&Evil are sitting here, my wife has played through all of them and the kids are working on them now).

what you all don't get is i already have a computer? i've been thinking about upgrading my video card to a radeon 9800 pro because its cheaper here in canada. here are the choices:

ps2-$229.99
xbox-$199.99
9800 pro-$375

so you guys choose the xbox? does it have better graphics? i've read in many reviews that halo for xbox slows down in some situations where great rendering is required. im not sure though. i like playing online games and action games.

Okay, for those who don't play RPG... just shut up
For those who don't own a PS2 + RPG games... just shut up

Been there, done it.

Live = a bunch of racist, cussing kids yelling in your ear. Long live voiceless internet games.

The best games are still single player, unless you are playing co-op with a REAL friend. I'll take a good single player, turn based RPG over some run and gun PC port.

The last time I ran into any classless gamers was the last time I played CounterStrike... Which, incidentally, was the LAST time I played CS. ;)

But yeah, you'll run into a-holes no matter where you hang out on the internet... Xbox Live, PC online, ATOT, etc.

At any rate, I play PGR2 and Rainbow Six 3 online a lot... And haven't run into any immaturity in a long time.

Wait for the R420. :D That's just me though, I don't like consoles much, I'm a fps gamer, and it's so hard to aim with the little joystick.

Seriously... You don't play anything else? No racers, adventures, platformers, sports... Nothing?

I used to play mainly FPS. But after a while, it all became "been there, done that". I'm not even sure the last time an FPS had anything different in it. I guess Halo with its vehicles. The first WWII shooters were cool (RTCW, MOH:AA, etc...) But I think that genre has MORE than run its course.

It's been a long time since I saw a game on a console that made me feel "Wow, would be cool to have that!" or something similar.
Even the ones that are in "my" categories tend to be lacking, Halo for example, was pretty much touted as the second coming by the XBox fans, while I found it to be pretty mediocre.

Buy a ps2 because of all the cool rpgs they have. Xbox although its cool hasnt got any. One of the best things about consoles is you can rent brand new games from video rental places and play and finish about 10 games for the cost of a brand new one which you might not like anyways.
