Xbox/PS2 for $19 - Is this place legit? pricerightauctions.com

hmmm... Strange and interesting. I have never heard of this site before. It does sound fishy though. Look at the delivery time:

Q: How do I receive the product / and or service if I am the successful bidder?

A: After receiving notification that you were the successful bidder, you will be required to complete the transaction by making payment in the amount of the successful bid, on the first regular billing period after the close of the auction. On receipt of payment, Price Right Inc. will ship your item / and or eligibility form within 45 business days.

Weird. Anyone have any details?

45 days? Might be long enough for them to take off with your money...

so basically, only one person would win the auction, and they don't even have to be the highest bidder too.
it might be legit since there would be 100 bids at 10 bucks a pop, which means they pocket $1000....

Q: How are successful bids determined?

A: We developed a program which sorts the bids and identifies the highest unique bid. The person who submits the highest unique bid unlike any other and does not exceed the "PRICERIGHT" price, is then entitled to purchase that item at the price they bid.

For example:

The 5 highest bids submitted for a product with a "PRICERIGHT" of $3,500.99 are:

1. $ 3,500.98
2. $ 3,500.98
3. $ 3,500.97
4. $ 3,481.99
5. $ 3,460.99

Bid 1 and 2 are eliminated since they are identical. Bid 3 wins since it is the highest unique bid.

Q: Will I be charged a registration fee if I am not the successful bidder?

A: Yes, you will be charged the registration fee for each bid you place, even if it was not the successful bid.

Hmmm, what's up with that? How much is this hidden fee? This site has way too many unanswered questions arising...I'd rather not waste my time nor money.

ok i have sorted all of this out...not a hot deal so mods please lock the thread.

for example, the sony vaio computer they are offering has a priceright price of $409.99
it requires 294 bids for the auction to be over, and the fee for each bid is $10.

since there will be only one winner, there will have to be 293 losing bids.
293 bids x $10 each = $2390 that they pocket immediately.

then the highest UNIQUE bidder will get to purchase the system at the price of $409.99

so basically, they are earning $2799.99 to sell a computer worth around $1499.99

do you feel lucky? lol

so you're not really "bidding" on the item per se. You are still purchasing it. Basically, you pay $10 to guess a number and try to get lucky?

So basically it's a $10 raffle, but the winner still has to pay for their prize...

Not a hot deal... I'll stick to buying $1 scratch offs & a lotto ticket...

Be careful! I recently signed up for a $25 Xbox and a $8.99 on This Site only to realize that its a pyrimid scheme and I won't get my goods for atleast 2 months. These type of sites seem to be popping up everywhere on the internet. Beware your better off buying it in the store cause then its secure.

I'd say the owner is a criminal.

This is a scam- I doubt anyone ever gets anything except an empty bank account.

it's not shady...let's say there's 294 minimum bids for a certain auction......u pay 10 bucks...along w/ 294 people pay 10 bucks.......so they pocket 2940 bucks...plus the unique number of the person who bid wins....this site is made by a genius.......

yes u gamble 10 bucks every time...it's freakin tempting isn't it?..it's almost calling out to u......ahhahaha

So how much do you pay? Just the $10 plus whatever you were to bid? Why not bid $90 plus your original $10 and get a PS2? Or do you have to stay below the PriceRight price? Meh, too confusing for me.
