Going for over $400 on Ebay, so if you didn't get a bundle preordered this may be a way to go. I have the Toys r us B&M bundle, but if I didn't I would just wait. I think MS is planning on 600k-800K by 11/15 which is over twice what the PS2 had at launch, and that doesn't even count the folks who would rather have that kiddy Gamecube system.

Here is a reputable place that has a Xbox with extra controller for $370. Not too shabby.

I'm planning on camping out at the 24hr walmart. Then I'll ebay it, and a few days later pick up the (paid for by MS) "kiddy" GC system.

Your best bet on getting one of these on release day is prolly waiting at some podunk town's walmart/target/kmart.

dimwit, didn't you get in on the bestbuy.com non-bundled preorder? If memory serves, you were the one that discovered you could remove the extra stuff from your cart. That was as great find.

Anyway, I don't think this years consoles are going to be in short enough supply to fetch high profits.

i just want to get the bare system with one controller for $299
but it doesn't look like there will be any available for
a walk-in customer.

I wouldn't buy into the shortage rumors. With 2 consoles launching within 3 days of each other and a plant in mexico churning xbox's as we speak, I don't think there will be any shortages. If you wanna make sure you get one though either show up a couple hours before opening or call cleo.

No I didn't. I already had a bundle preordered at Amazon at the time, and didn't want to have 2 preorders. By the time I thought about it, they were sold out at BestBuy. I cancelled my Amazon preorder and did the ToysRUs B&M one. I don't think there will be a shortage and did not want to wait a week for the online vendors to ship it to me while everyone else was playing it.

Tung, don't worry about a shortage. Our local ToysRUs had preorder bundles available on the 13th. My son was there when they opened. They had 16 bundles available, and he called them before they closed and they still had some available. The nice thing about Toys R Us is that you have to order the bundle, but you can return the games.
