Xbox power box question.

I just set up my xbox after letting it sit for like 3 years collecting dust. I only ever played one game (halo 3 single player) on it ever.

So I put this xbox in a new component tv cabinet that is enclosed with a glass door but has a hole in the back for cables. I also put in that power box with the yellow light on the shelf next to the xbox, so I was wondering if I should have left that out the back hole on the floor?

Would it build up too much heat?

The PSU's can overheat and fail. Mine just did some 3 years after I purchased my 360. I would put it outside the cabinet if possible.
