XBOX ONE $199.00 - Trade In and Trade Up

Trade In and Trade Up
Receive $150 toward an Xbox One console when you trade in a working Xbox 360 250GB or Sony PS3 Slim console at a participating Best Buy store.

This is not bad considering I paid about $90.00 for an XBOX 360 250GB about a year ago and you can find PS3/360's at garage sales now.

Found the snippet here:

hmm, not a bad deal

I don't really use my ps3 anymore, but don't really need an XBone. Getting the $100 for it though might not be bad.

Cowboom sells used 360 consoles every now and then on special for less and you can get one cheaper if your willing to do cowbooms auction. Im surprised people buy them on e-bay for more but it seems you have to sell your games with it to get more than this offer.

If I sell on e-bay I might get a similar deal but I also have to give monies to PayPal and E-bay then take care of boxing and shipping it.

If you have one of the X-Box 360 consoles that's before Jasper and the console still works this is a no brainer get rid of it while you can.

Nice deal, its actually worth up to $190 if you have 4 controllers ($10 each). My county has some bogus rules regarding these trade-ins though, none of the local stores honor them. They say there's some local law but I think its just a "rich" county exclusion.

Stupid question: How do you know which unit you have? Got it as a graduation gift years ago, never touch it.

Edit NM found it, its the old school 250GB unit. Even though its not one of the new slim ones would I still be able to get $150 for it?

Hmmm...interesting, but I don't know of any interesting Xbox One exclusives, already have a PS4, and the Xbone can't play 360 games.

^ If you like fighting and racing games, there is nothing on PS4 as good as Forza Horizon 2 or Killer Instinct. Also, MCC is a smoking deal for FPS fans. PS4 has TLoU, Infamous. Overall, both consoles don't have enough must have exclusives yet.

So what if the rich guy wants to trade in a car? Bummer sounds like one of those laws written in the 30's like no kissing on government steps.

Look on the back of your 360, near the power input. There is a sticker that has the 12V rating. The number next to it will be one of 5 things, and also tell you what model XBox 360 you have:

Xenon/Xephyr - 16.5A
Opus - 14.2A (refurbished Xenon with no HDMI)
Falcon- 14.2A
Jasper- 12.1A

The newer units are the slim model but if you have an older one and its not the Jasper your at high risk of the Red Ring of Death. So if you see 16.5A or 14.2A do the trade in.

MS also gives you $100 for any working 360 or ps3 with all its original accesories. I went with best buy as I had more discounts there.

Just did this yesterday. Walked out with the 500GB Assassin's Creed Bundle.

Great deal--I had the really old Xbox360 with 3GB and walked out with the Assassin's Creed Xbox One Bundle for just $220.

Pretty sure no one else is going to give you $101 for an ancient Xbox 360...sold 3 games and an additional controller to knock it down even more.

An even better deal would enable you to keep your 360, so you can play all your old games.

Breaking backwards compatibility seems to be the new standard.

Haha no you can still trade in cars, its some tech recycling law. Best Buy's trade-in programs never work, I should really have them cite the specific law. But even when we tried to trade-in/upgrade our cell phone they said we had to go to the original place of purchase or drive to a different county/state. Pretty lame.

If they had this offer for a PS4 I would be in the car right now. Microsoft hasn't really shown anything exclusive that I feel the need to have.

I will probably end up without any games for the new Xbox. I'm interested in halo and Sunset over drive but with the buy 2 get one deal at target I think they will be all sold out by lunch time.

Just picked up sunset over drive , Halo mmc, and cod aw at target. I'll probably beat the campaign in cod and trade it in a week or two. Maybe use it towards far cry 4.

Wish I had known about the target deal, I just picked up Forza at GameStop, could have picked up MCC as well, and then gotten Sunset Overdrive...

It's all week so just go return at game stop if you did not open the games. I won't play much of cod multiplayer so by the time far cry 4 is out, it will trade at best buy for $40 hopefully.

Or maybe this time I will like the mp, we will see since its the first time I'm playing it on Xbox one vs PlayStation.

I have a ton of 360 games and most are pretty good. The worst thing I do is keep my old sports games Madden/FIFA/NHL/etc... It seems wasteful to sell it and lose the value of those games considering I spent $30-40 a pop for most of them.

I still play Madden 25, BF4, and GTA5 from time to time.

Tempted. I have to see what games I haven't touched yet on the 360 that I still want to play.

Well, looks like I'm getting an Xbox One. I have a grand total of one game (Infinite Undiscovery) I haven't played.. the rest I'll just trade in. Keeping my Tales of Vesperia CE though. Sunset Overdrive here I come!
