I'm getting xbox live and am wondering if it is worth the money. Any replied appreciatted.
I'll be playing nhl2005.. Does anyoen play this game online ?
 
I signed up for Live after I got Halo 2. I would say I've gotten my money's worth out of it. But I know people personally that I play with online in team games. Otherwise I might say no. I can't speak for NHL though.

Mostly without lag, but occasionally you may play a game and someone has AOL Broadband and it will be a bit laggy.
 
Whats a good game title oTHER then halo2 that i would be impressed with, (with out ) jungle warfare..I'm paying over a hundred bux for headset and yrs. subscription to xbox live ,so i wanna make sure that xbox live is worth it. I have DSL,which is better for the xbox live sysyem,DSL,or Cable ?
 
I mainly play Halo 2, but Rainbow Six is alot of fun. I also heard from a friend Gost Recon 2 is good. I played the first one, but didn't like it. He said the 2nd is MUCH better. As for your question whether DSl or cable is better it depends. ADSl connections are 1.5mbps. My cable connection is 5mbps, but it varys.
 
xbconnect sucks. xbox live is totally worth it if you like online games.
it such an awesome tool.
 
I just phoned the store and they need a Credit Crad to verify i'm 18. I mean xbox live needs to me to key in my CC info which as sad it is is I don't have a CC.
Anyone have this problem with using a CC to totallt activate xbox live.

Problem with CC you mean?,,,Well I do have a problem with it,what about the ones without a CC and want xbox live. Microsoft is losing a customer as we speak.
Is there a way around this credit card thing ?
 
Yes I meant I don't have a problem with providing a CC #, but that may be because I am only 15 and use my moms. If you still want to play online you could use xbconnect. I only used xbconnect for the original Halo, but since Halo2 has been realesed I have been just using Xbox Live. It has alot more fetures that make it worth it.

Also I do not believe there is a way around providing your CC#.
 
XBox Live is totally worth the $4.17/month it costs. XBC is a major PITA to play... Lots of lag, have to access your PC everytime you want to start a game, none of the Live features (friends lists, clans, stats, etc...)

And Drew is right... There's no way of registering Live without a credit card. You don't have a debit card (checking account), or a paypal card or anything like that?

Unfortunately I don't think so although you might be able to use a debit card instead. The credit card # does provide a fairly good means to make sure people who are banned for cheating don't just go to the store and buy another 3-month subscription code.
 
Well, I play other Sega 2k5 sports stuff online as well. It's definetly worth the price of the ticket! There are some games come with free 2 months Xbox Live trial so you can try it out the lag yourself.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Right now I only play Halo 2 and SVC Chaos - SNK vs. Capcom online, but I plan to try out other games. And why are you spending $100+? The headset with 12 months is $58.95 @ Amazon (unless you're including your broadband in there).

I promise you won't be disappointed in this evolution in [console] gaming.
 
You need a CC# cause of cheaters. What ever, you must work at M$. That's Bull$hit!

If you didn't have to jump through more hoops than a poodle at a flea circus to cancel these CC sign ups id be ok.

Fvck another monthly bill so i can play capture the flag.. (boring as hell imo)
... $100 for xbox live is a nice downpayment on a paintball gun.
