Maybe because they are making room for the newer kits that have some better games bundled and a few other changes. I can't remember them all, but I think they also are going to raise the price on them to $60 if my mind is serving me correctly (but lately who knows if it is feeding me good info.)

What's the big diff between v1 and v2 besides the games? Can't you update v1 online to v2?

Get version 1 now, if you can.

They're going to be selling the headset seperatly for either $15 or $25, or you can buy xbox live with the headset for $65-75 (I don't remember which). Xbox live without the headset will be $50. They are updating the games, I think there's some new form of tetris in Version 2.

I might be wrong on the prices, but I am fairly sure the headset costing extra/sold seperatly is true. Whatever game they're including in version 2 doesn't seem worth the extra money, so I'd just buy version 1 and be done with it.

I don't know about Walmart, but I just picked one up for $42 at Microcenter in California. The games on it were Whacked and Moto GP. Just FYI.

Walmart clearance is always ymmv, and larger stores do carry more products so that would explain why some peoples stores do not carry them.

I *MAY* be wrong about the price increase on xbox live. I specificly remember reading it was going up in price (read it here too, try searching off topic), but Bestbuy appears to be selling version 2 w/ the headset for $50.

Version 2 has Tetris World Tour (full version?), motogp and mechassault demos.

XBL Starter Kit is due to increase to $69 (maybe in November?)

The inclusion of a FULL version of Tetris Worlds makes the V.2 kit a better deal than the V.1.

BTW: MTG has actually expressed interest in playing on XBL, shocking as that may sound.
BTW2: Even more amazingly, the game that piqued her interest = Outlaw Volleyball!

My Walmart is so worthless! They only had one XBOX live kit left and it was locked in the display case. The employee working wouldn't even take the time to scan it for me. They NEVER have enough people working in this section. This is why I never shop there.

apparently my walmart is not big enough lol

They never carried XBL in the first place. I would have bought it if they did. I always end up with walmart gift cards for some reason we get more money back when returning items than we paid for them. I guess thats because we lose receipts easily.

Anyways when the walmart went up about a year ago...it was like the 3-4th largest in the country according the write up in the paper.

I would gladly pay some paypal for this kit, Im not sure if i want to activate...but i do need the headset and would like to have that option in the next few months.
