Yeah, I went to the website and got nothing. I'm pretty peeved actually, but oh well.

Guess this means I'll finally get some people to play Reach with (I hopes...).

haha, dude I'll play Reach with you sometime just let me know when you plan to do it.

i didn't get an email, but i think i got in. what is the website you all are checking out to see if you got in or not? the one I was looking at is...

https://connect.microsoft.com/XboxLIVEUpdate

and from what it is saying there it sounds like i was selected, but it isn't bluntly clear.

That's the one.. if you see under Announcements "Group Membership" and "preview live Update - 4/6/11" then you are most likely in. Basically you only see all this extra information if you made it.

From that site:

Due to the nature of this update we will be splitting the Xbox LIVE Update Preview audience into two separate segments. This means we will have some unique scenarios associated to each group so that we can get the test coverage we are seeking for this update. On your console, once it is properly registered into the program you will be able to see the ‘Xbox Beta Channel’ and the first slot will also identify the AUDIENCE you are registered into.

YOU are in the Xbox LIVE Update Audience

· Xbox LIVE Update – The updates will be released via the LIVE service and will work with the Halo Reach disc that we are providing.
· Xbox DISC Update – The initial update will be taken directly via the Halo Reach DISC that we are providing.

(I'm in the LIVE update I guess, so I'll be getting a new REACH disc.)

^ The way I'm reading it both will get the disk just different way of getting the update needed to play it (one through the internet and the other one through the disk)

I'd wait and see what comes of the disc we get. I'd hate for it to be time limited or whatever.

The last time I checked my email I hadn't got a reply, but according to the connect site I'm in and a part of the Disk group.

I'll join up with you, altough it's been quite some time since I've even played any of the Halo games.

I never got an e-mail. but the disc arrived today. Was wondering why I had a package at my house. Forgot about this registration.

Got it yesterday too.

After playing Reach online last night, I remember why I don't play many shooters anymore 🙂. I got my ass handed to me.

me too.. have it, installed it. Looks like no changes other than disc space / security.

Yea other than the beta section, I didn't notice any other differences. I played Reach for about 30 minutes, no issues. Haven't tried another disc yet though.

Got mine too. I wonder how many of these were sent out?

I personally dont awfully care for Halo, and 20 years from now, this is going to be one hell of a collectors item. Mine is staying sealed. 😛

Why would you sign up to participate in the beta, if you aren't going to participate in the beta? 🙂

"staying sealed" ?

mine didn't come "sealed" it just came in some green jacket w/no sleeve on it and has text printed onto the disc.

You're right, I just noticed it isn't actually sealed.

I sugne up for the same reason everyone else did...a free game. I thought I'd receive a plain ol retail copy of halo reach. Instead, I got something probably far more valuable in the long run.

I really doubt someone is going to pay you more for a "Spring 2011 Dashboard Update Beta Halo: Reach" vs a plain retail Halo:Reach, of which there are literally millions of copies of. This isn't some obscure SNES RPG with a 20K unit production run - it's Halo.

I guess we'll find out in a decade or so. It's crazy what some people will pay for obscure items like this just to complete a collection. It has nothing to do with the actual game.

I have a couple of things that I've held onto for that "just in case" factor.
