XBox Live points for using Bing...

Hope this isn't spam...and I thought people in here would see it over the Hot Deals section. If you go to Bing and join their Rewards Program you can accumulate credits fairly easy and buy 400 Microsoft Points in a couple days with the credits you earn...not sure how long this will last but I'm trying it out.

They used to have 400 credits for 400 MS points but then they jacked up it up to 500 credits for 400 MS points 🙁

MS should give up the search engine race; they've lost.
Considering every pre-built computer comes with IE8 and Bing, they have not lost. And the latest data shows they are growing. They have decent market share and a good feature set. So, no, they haven't lost. But thanks for your expert opinion.

not as good as google, but enough to get me to use bing. i don't buy any DLC from Live but if i can get it for free.......

That bothered me too. Just shows how truly screwy the MS point system is... even they refuse to use their own system elsewhere 😛

That's dumb.

As much as i love Google, competition is always good.

This as well - competition makes the leader better. Look at Microsoft and browsers. They were very complacent when they outright dominated - then Firefox, and later Chrome, came along and questioned that dominance - and suddenly Microsoft started improving their browser at a breakneck pace. It was 5 years between IE6 and IE7...and the amount its improved in the similar time period between IE7 and IE9 is astronomical.

Same can be said for Google. Bing pushing them will only force them to work harder to improve.

I think Bing is actually better than Google in some ways. I like Bing maps, and their search results are sometimes more relevant. Not to mention their home page is really cool.

I'm glad to see healthy competition personally. Search (and the massive amounts of data behind it) is too important to be monopolized by one company.

Funny you mention monopolies.....Google may be under scrutiny by the US Senate 😛
