Absolutely agreed... I highly prefer the online PC gaming market to the console online market. People are complete idiots and suffer from severe pwnage denial. They can't shut the fvck up and let an argument go. They nag you all through the match and no matter how much you ignore them, every time you kill them: THAT'S ****** BULLSHIT!

I cannot stand it. Pardon the French; just trying to give a qualitative example of how utterly foolish, annoying, and outrageously ignorant people can be. I swear, if I heard one more mean thing about black people I was going to kill someone. People are disrespectful, ignorant, uncaring, and mean on Xbox Live. I don't understand it. I love being able to join nearly any server in CSS and have fun, laugh, and noone complains or says stupid crap. There are quite a few idiots in that community, don't get me wrong.

It's really not all too different in PC games, just they can't really get their rage out as effectively towards you with a mere keyboard.

Speaking of british people, there was one dude - he was an outrageously snooty bastard. Granted, he did say what I was thinking - that all you people who can't control themselves need to get a life, but his chosen words were "You americans disgust me".

Maybe all that garbage had finally sunk into me and I just stooped down to their level, but I just couldnt help myself from letting him know which part of my body he could suck on.

You can set your son's account up so that he either can't use/hear voice chat or he can only voice chat with people on his friend's list. Same with the video cams. The 360 actually has pretty good parental controls.

I don't really go into games randomly anymore. typically when i play a gam eonline i will join a game w/someone on my friends list.

and i can tell you from experience ... in GoW, if you are on a team that isn't talking, your team WILL lose. that game is all about teamwork and strategies.

there is nothing like being in a cover firefight withs omeone on the other team, and as you are shooting at this other guy, you are coordinating a way for your teammate to flank him from behind and you watch him chainsaw the enemy

Some of the most intelligent conversations I've ever had was while playing Burnout on Xbox. Most of the races were so long all the kids would get bored and quit leaving all the grownups to play, then once you get into your grove it's easy to sit and chat with people.

Then I got Halo 2, I found were all the kids went.

Online PC gaming is sort of like that but not as bad. I'm guessing there's a lot more grommy little ****** on Xbox Live. Daddy's computer is probably too hard to setup and whatnot.

Worst I have heard about is two guys with the voice mask, one was really deep the other was high so it sounded like a little boy.

One was playing the part of a priest the other a little boy.

That was some bad stuff.

Edit: On another note try to change what zone you play in, like maybe the family zone or something.

My first foray into GoW online was the same thing. Bunch of teenagers screaming and cursing. They yelled at me because I killed someone. Apparently someone "claimed" a kill; I had no idea what the hell they were talking about it. I was getting shot, so I returned fire and killed the guy. I only play with people I know now.

Well, I don't really have a *problem* with it really. It's not the trash talk and obscenities that bother me, its the extent of it. It's not like it's once in a while, it's ALL THE TIME, EVERY GAME. And thats ALL they use the chat for!

Playing with friends was indeed absolutely awesome. It was like having them in my living room, planning tactics, calling out enemies etc.

One could wish you could get that same kind of camraderie with random folk just like you, but all it takes is one asshole to spoil the game, and I suppose people are so jaded by now they don't even bother trying.
