I still can't get over why Xbox 360 owners will shell out to play online...I really don't get it.

Don't start that here, it's not the place for it. PC gaming is NOT the same as console gaming and not everybody wants to shell out for the PC.

$700 for a semi-good PC that will last 2 years, w/ an average of $150 in upgrades every other year.

The 360 will last for 3-5 years, and it's $30/yr for internet. Even though steam is free, you're still paying more in the long run.

Why? Because it's not that much money and the only way to play online.

Anyway, in for one! 🙂

I actually mostly upgrade for the number crunching aspect of a computer more than the gaming part. I upgrade the graphics because I can. Console games cost more. I think the PC folks have it just as good as the console people as time approaches infinity.

True and it is not as user friendly either.

All the games are going their own route. Several games I have bought off of Steam make you sign up for IDs with their respective companies. I hate that. Steam is definitely a step in the right direction but it is nothing like Xbox Live, absolutely no comparison.
