I was watching ESPN 3/Sports Center about Randy Moss last night. When SC would cut to show a clip of Moss playing, it wouldn't show the clip. It would instead show a picture of Moss "Ken Burnsing" himself across the screen.

The new zune music is stupid, it seems that you have to say in the Zune music channel to listen to music. It's the same problem as last.fm. I don't want to use my xbox to watch music. I wish you could build a playlist or something in the Zune channel, then listen to it while you play games.

Does anyone know how to sort games by completion? Or at least access a list of completed games via the Dashboard?

I noticed the ocassional hang-up/pauses every now and then when entering or exiting menus/guide buttons.

Also, I don't know if this is related but I have been playing Fable 2 (installed to HD) and after the update it takes forever to load the game. While it is loading there is now an all white screen. The first time it happened I thought my Xbox had locked up.

The nfl on espn thing has been around from the beginning.... guess the nfl didn't grant rights to show highlights on espn3. That is the only sport that seems to have that restriction (atleast so far that I have noticed).

I do agree its a shame it can't run in the background but its still and awesome service.... I use it all the time to play music while I am doing other stuff.

Yea, the NFL is EXTREMELY stingy with its content. They offer no way to stream live games online (and yet they get pissed when people offer up streams), and they don't allow NFL footage to be played on ESPN's online services (Insider and ESPN 3).

Why? Probably because they have that crappy billion dollar deal with DirecTV. It's amazing how far behind the curve the NFL is in terms of making their sport accessible to everyone.

I still have hopes, that one day, you'll be able to use last.fm in the background. I doubt it'll ever happen though.

I think that is correct. My download in the morning for the dashboard was very quick.

I got home last night and tried to do the update for ESPN3, and it timed out twice before I finally downloaded. The servers were jammed up.

The completed game list is in the My Xbox channel, the same place it's been for a while. After the update, I have a few new account management panes before it.

My Xbox > Gamertag (2) > Achievement Progress (4)

Updated mine tonight. Everything went pretty quick. All the follow on updates were somewhat annoying though. I had to download the new avatar stuff. I downloaded Espn to only have to download more espn afterwards.

The big problem came once I started up a game though. I fired up crackdown 2 and jumped into multiplayer. I played one round of deathmatch and was waiting for the next match to start when my xbox decided to freeze. I powered it down and then back up but the controller wouldn't connect or anything and there was no video, just the inner power light in the ring. After about a minute or so I got the 3 red lights.

There is a dude at this thread that seems to have an idea about it, so I am gonna let my xbox relax for a while and try it again later.

This xbox replaced my launch system that died after about a year, so I am sure it is past the warranty period. In case anyone asks it sits in an open shelf tv stand with nothing preventing air flow.

So I have pretty much proven that the issue is with older systems sporting a 95nm or 85nm processor and gpu. I left the system off over night cause it was late and this morning it was pretty cold in the house. I was able to get the system to boot again to the dash board and as long as I stay at the dashboard I am fine. The instant that I try and start a game it hard locks the console with visuals on the screen. When I try and reboot I get an instant RROD. I have to unplug the console and leave it for a minute and then plug it and do a hard reset. It will return to the dashboard and we start over again. I am a Computer Engineer also and this is not related to poor maint of my xbox as it is newly rebuilt and went out of warranty many years ago. It has been working fine until this update. I have recreated this issue with another xbox that I rebuilt, this time I didn't update the console and instead decided to play it for an hour or so this morning. I then update to the new software and bam RROD almost instantly. If you have a GEN1 or GEN2 be prepaired to buy a new xbox because the code in the new dashboard is looking for tempatures related to the new 45nm processor and GPU in the new xbox slims. We can wait for an update to come out, but good luck on MS fixing this and letting people keep using there older GEN xbox 360. They want money! At least my PS3 that's 4 years old and NEVER been cracked open is working just fine. Oh did I mention that it's never been in for repairs, and never had a YLOD! I would think of changing guys, invest 1 time and know that your console is solid!

Ugh, that doesn't sound good at all. However, I haven't had any trouble with my Falcon Elite since the update, but the Falcons are at least at bit cooler than the first gen boxes (Xenon/Zephyr).

That S1blicide guy's post on the XBOX forums is a huge crock of shit. His sample size is his two machines and suddenly he knows exactly that the problem lies with temperature gauges within the software? Please. The fact that he throws out a unverifiable job title and then props the PS3 up on a pedestal and becomes a salesman for it doesn't lend him any credence whatsoever.

Sorry, but Microsoft has all of 6 or 7 different models of the 360 (or less, I don't really know), to think each hasn't been tested extensively internally and through the public beta is being a little short-sighted.

Downloaded the update. It's basically a new skin. Big f'n deal. There is no difference at all because I don't care about ESPN and avatars and all that other crap, it's a game system meant for gaming.

Might want to change your overall opinion of console gaming systems, because all the extra media addons aren't going to change anytime soon.

I'm not unhappy that they're adding this stuff, I just don't care. I don't see the most recent update as an "update" so much as a reskin.

Except it feels faster, and has a better marketplace layout.

astro has a good point it really is just a reskin that happens to make it REALLY FUCKING SLOW

its not at all faster. navigating is slower, a lot slower, you cant spam B to exit menus super fast there is a delay where nothing happens when you press the button

I'd liken it to the Win2k -> WinXP jump. Pretty much the same with a few things rearranged and a new appearance.

I don't think menu scrolling and navigation is any faster, but presenting the user with information such as game lists and marketplace content is a lot faster.

Did anyone get any issues with the old pricing not going through / getting canceled. I logged into my fiance's account today and it was silver. In October I purchased the "discount" $39.99 for 1 year gold service and it is showing up as canceled on her account in Microsoft Billing's site... I am going to call and see what is up, but that is strange it would do that.

I've been using it since the beta opened up, and everything feels faster. I'm on a new model S though - maybe that's the reason? I'm not crazy though because my friends list and such pop up much faster, and so is loading messages.
