XBOX LIVE CARD HELP!

so i'm about to buy a 12+ month live card. its been used for 2 months. can i use it again to renew an account? is there any way possible to pause the card from further on being used.

quick questions juss a thought for everyone.

considering: i bought an xbox 360 and it came with a card and it looked used. i activated it and it worked so take into mind that either the card that came with the 360 hasn't been used or it has been used and i just opened a new account with it.
 
What do you mean it has been used? It's either a valid code or it isn't. If it has already been redeemed (used) then you won't be able to use it.
 
used on an account. maybe could i do this?

login into the users account. change the whole account information according to yours. then would it deem legal?

i juss want to try many various ways to get through this XD
 
The code is applied to the gamertag that entered it. Even if you login to the other user's account, you won't be able to somehow magically tie the remaining months onto your gamertag.
 
Wow, no that's not how it works at all. Once the code is entered in that gamertag gets 12 months of live. You don't get to pick and choose how much you use of that card. Once it's on there, it's on there. If you bought a new card you god screwed.
 
supposidly prepaid now? LOL i'll probably tell if its one from retail and if its prepaid.

ratail - ones that rip off to see the code

prepaid - ones that you pay using credit card... idk i haven't seen one possibly one that has it on the card and don't need tear-offs

Well your options are if you have a current Live account:

1) Wait and it'll automatically renew, charging you $50
2) Buy a 12month card and your account will have XBL for 13 months.
3) Buy a 3 month card and your account will have XBL for 3 months.
4) Cancel you XBL. (account will revert to silver, can be reupgraded to gold at a later date).
