Xbox users have to pay to play games they pay for online? What a bunch of suckers.

Xbox live is by far the most robust online gaming network I have ever experienced.

You ever try to play Mario Kart Wii on Nintendo's network? Utter garbage I tell you.

You pay for quality....try playing NBA2K8 on the other "free" network.....I thought I was on a modem sometimes!!!

Great deal, gave the link to a friend who recently bought a 360.

He was glad to be saving a bundle over normal "retail" pricing 🙂

I just bought a Xbox360 last night, this deal just made it that much better! TY OP!
😀

Can I buy this and use it in a few months why my subscription lapses - or can I use it to reup?

Thanks!

I believe that if you have a current gold account and use a time card like this one, it just adds to the time you already had left. So if you run out say in a month and use this card now you would be good for a year and a month (or two months if the card is the 13 month ones).

Yeah, I can never understand people bitching about having to pay for Live. Its less than $5 dollars a month. For the best online gaming experience of any platform period.

they also can not install programs on their PC (the XBOX360 is running an x86 intel CPU), can not upgrade their hardware, can not install codecs for non propriatary formats like FLAC and OGG and MKV and x264 and so on...

Console: n. An outdated PC with a crippled OS and infested with DRM. which allows companies to sell games exclusively for one platform at a higher price.

However, due to the exclusivity of some titles it might be worth getting. And this is an excellent deal for the xbox live service...

I am buying one, Thank you op for a great deal.

PS. I hate paying for my car, car insurance, and fuel too, and I think it is superfluous, and stupid, but since I don't live in berlin or some other city with awesome public transit, I end up paying for it. It beats the alternative.

A lot of people may play only handful of times a year online so they see it as a waste and would rather buy something. Also when the year is up the money is gone but if you bought another game you could play it for years.

also, while other console online play is crap, most PC games have free online play that isn't.

Unless you want to play a MMORG (which happens to be the most popular genre in PC gaming by far), then your forking over AT LEAST $10 bucks a month, for the privelage of playing online, and thats just for one game.

do you all really need to debate whether or not it's worth paying for online gaming here? It's a good deal for anyone who is interested. argue in the gaming forum
