just try and fix it yourself I say... if you have no luck at all with the warranty or credit-card extended warranty, dont ebay it just yet.... it is basically just a pc

Problem is solved to some extent but not all. Visa still needs that official repair statment to complete my claim. Only problem is how am I going to get that?

you send it to MS and they send you an invoice/bill. Fax that over to VISA

problem solved three months later.
