collector's edition?

are there any real differences besides fancy case and bonus dvd?

No. I preordered this game way back before the collectors edition and didn't see enough reason to cancel my preorder and order the collectors one.

Just be warned, if your like me and want things the day they come out, don't order it from outpost, I pre-ordered sims 2 and I waited about 4 days then finally called them and they said it wouldn't ship till a week later! Needless to say I canceled my order.

im in.
39.99 is hard to pass up.

i didnt see any real reason to get the limited edition either.

would you recommend ordering from eCost? they have mediocre reviews at best at resellerratings

I pre-ordered it from them in July when it was $33.99. When I log in to my account on their site it still shows it at that price and that it's set to ship "Early November". Hopefully everything goes smooth. But I do have a feeling that I won't get it for at least a week after it's released because I got the free shipping option.

I might just go buy one from a B&M store and return it when I get my $33.99 version in the mail.

I wonder when we'll get our orders? Mine still doesn't show as "Shipped", so I doubt that it'll get here tomorrow. 🙁

I've pre-ordered a few games, from several different online stores, and they usually ship it the day before, or a few days before the official launch date, so I always got it on that date...sometimes a day before. Outpost doesn't seem like it's going to do this though....although I hope I'm wrong.

I've had good experience with eCost in the past, orderied a DVD player, came next week, and got the eCost rebate fairly soon afterwards.

I also preordered Halo 2 from them back when they had the special edition for $33.99+handling. My order got cancelled by the system (I guess their system times out preorders if they take too long, go figure). Anyway, I called customer support, and they not only took care of me, but volunteered to upgrade me to overnight shipping. So my game is waiting for me at home 🙂
