What you buying or have already bought?

XBox or a Gamecube or neither cause you got a PS2.

I have a PS2 and also getting a cube, the xbox is a piece of s**t, with the worst controller, and all the demos were always out of order in the
stores made me wonder a bit about the system. Now that I have heard of them overheating I am glad I stay away from there.

If you don't own an Xbox, you shouldn't be calling it a POS. Your stupid fanboy posts are really getting annoying, don't you have anything better to do than bash the Xbox? The only way it will overheat is if you have it sitting in an enclosed case with the fan on the back blocked, this will happen with any system. In fact, I had a PS and a DC go bad on me(both had known issues). The PS2 also has problems where it will stop reading dvd discs, both movies and games. AFAIK this issue is still a problem, a month ago a person brought back the GT3 PS2 to my local BestBuy with that problem while I was waiting in line.

As for me, I'll own both, each having games that interest me.

I have a PS2 and I honestly havent lost interest in it at all. If I was going to purchase another system for the hell of it, I'd feel that buying an XBox would be the way to go. I was tempted by the game cube because of its price and awsome graphics. But I'm almost sure the XBox has a *MUCH* brighter future as far as games go. Oh, and trust me, the gamecube controler is nothing to rave about either.;)

I've got a PS2 and should have a Gamecube pretty soon. No X-Box for me unless they get some really good RPG's.

<< Luden, it will not EVER overheat. That is the beauty of Intel inside! >>

*cough*bull*cough* you go seal up your power supply fan, run case closed, and play a few hours of quake. keep the room warm too.

I dont see why I'd buy an xbox... people on my floor in the dorm have processors >2x the speed, and video cards that are very similar (2 gf3 ti200's, one gf3 ti500).

Who cares about the hardware, if the SOFTWARE isn't OPTIMIZED FOR IT. Wait till the PC gets a fully optimized game (which means NOTHING besides T&L pixel shader gpus), then you can talk.

or... since the xbox is a pentium 3 and a geforce3, it can most likely be EMULATED at near-full speed on a regular p3 733 + gf3. maybe the xbox has faster ram... that can be compensated for with double the processor speed, etc.

edit: the xbox has 100MHz (PC1600), the emulating PC would have faster ram too (PC2100)
