There is something a little more high end

for example, that wont give you an option to run your games in 480p or anything higher.
Not to mention you only get stereo and not digital..

unless there is something proprietary in MS's cables...those cables I showed will let you run in 480p or higher.

And yes, you would not get digital from those cables

OMG. Lots of bad advice here so I'm going to set the record straight. If a Monster Cable solution is available then it is easily the best. Hands down. No Contest.

/fanboi mode off?

(I use the MS pack and a random optical audio cable and it works just fine. Cable freaks are just that... freaks)

I have lots of X-Box Component cables from transcoders I was selling last year. $5 shipped if anyone wants them. They seem to be of good quality, and they have optical outputs on them.

Damn. Do people not read at all anymore? OP has been with us since 2001.

Ask in the official Xbox thread. Or in the Peripherals section. Or in the General Hardware. Or even in Video. Crap, try Hot Deals too.

Does anyone here know how I can overclock my gigahertz???
🙂

I do not see an electrical engineering degree in your future.

I hope you were referring to him and not me....

I have the MS HiDef AV pack, the newer one (they revised it at some point). I've compared it with my friend's Monster cable AV pack and I would definately say the MS pack is better.

How can you tell if the MS HiDef AV pack is the original version or the revision?

The original one has a rectangular box, its easy to add SPDIF or other outputs to it. I assume thats why they changed it.
