Perhaps not the place to be asking this, but i see alot of people out there talking about chipping xbox's although these all seem to be US based. I'm in the UK, and would like to get mine fixed so i can play games from the US. Anyone know how to get this done in the UK? I'm curious though why US people want to get theirs chipped in the first place - it can't be to play European games, so why?

It's as simple as all they want to do is play their games from a "Backup" DVD as opposed to the original. ;)

From what i've seen though, copying xbox games is an incredibly complex and drawn out process, requring about 50 pieces of software and quite a bit of knowledge! Hardly in the same league as copying a PC game! I just want to be able to play US games, which i can get cheaper!

Try going to you local "big" computer fair.
I was going around the Manchester Bowlers Exibition Centre a while back, and i saw several stalls chiping PS1s & PS2s. Im sure that they probably do X-Box`s as well.

I recommend starting at Xbox Scene. They have great tutorials and FAQs, and the forums can answer just about any question you have.
