Though you can download demos and other stuff with a Silver one too. At any time you can upgrade your Silver account to a Gold one. A Gold one is like a subscription for online play.

Oh, it's only a month? Then that's only worth a few bucks. The pro is still a better deal, IMO.

Its not only a month to what I read. It is 12 months + 1 month free. Its the thirteenth month that is free.

Where are you seeing this? I think you are mistaken. Unless there's a promo with the seller, the Elite comes with 1 month of Gold according to Xbox.com. None of the other systems come with a Gold trial according to the site. 1 month of Gold only costs about $3.25 if you buy a year subscription.

Hmmm. There was a couple reviews on Newegg for the Elite Holiday Bundle that several people said they received a 12 month + 1 free subscription when they bought it.

Ill be damned if I can find them now though.

Not as good graphically but it probably has the better physics for driving. Good track and car selection. The bonus is that it is real cheap to get now.

And it's also available now.

Well, in this case we are actually comparing GT5: Prologue and Forza 2. Forza 3 will probably end up coming out around the same time as the full version of GT5 at the rate development for GT5 is going.

The Elite also includes the HDMI and optical/RCA cables set, which don't come with the Pro 60GB. To add these cables to the Pro separately it's a $50 kit: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hard.../x/xbox360hdmiavcable/

What you might not know that is that if you want to to use the HDMI cable for video only and RCA/optical cables for audio, you can't just use the cables that come with the Pro and go out and buy an HDMI cable. The cable harness that comes with the Pro obstructs the HDMI port, so you need to buy the above linked kit with contains a harness that does not obstruct the HDMI port.

...or, you could hack up the stock harness to make it fit... http://www.chadledford.com/?p=50

Either way, when you break it down the Elite is not a bad deal compared to the the Pro, but mainly just because accessories for the 360 are so overpriced. Am I the only one would prefer the Elite to come in white also? The black 360 reminds me too much of the old Xbox. They should have at least made the LEDs blue instead of green on the Elite to get away from the black and green theme.

Thanks mullet. That is what I needed to hear to finally decide on the Elite.

I kind of like the black though. Will match the PS3.

Is it more of a matte black or like a gloss paint ?

Matte black finish. Looks nice.

Personally I bought my box just for Beautiful Katamari, Bully and Dead Rising. They say you should have 5 games that appeal to you but after I bought the box I got up to 15 games in about six months time. I love the machine.

edit: Oh yah, stay the hell away from NG2. That game is a big letdown from NG:Black.

Actually, I never played Ninja Gaiden Black for the Xbox. Only other one I have played was Sigma.

What is so bad abotu NG2 ? All the trailors I see look pretty good.

Yeah, the color is definitely a matter of opinion, and I could see how black would match/blend more. When I said I wish the Elite came in white also, I meant "in addition to black".

The black unit itself looks pretty sharp, but In terms of matching I guess I'm looking at it from a different perspective. The Elite doesn't really match any of MS' accessories for the 360, which are designed to look good with the standard white console.

If PayPal gets my funds to me before the 25% buy it now cashback from MS runs out I will probably opt for an Elite. I'd need the included HDMI/RCA adapter, plus with the upcoming dashboard update you will be able to actually install games onto the HD (optical disk still required to play). This should reduce load times and hopefully make the 360 run a little quieter without having the DVD-ROM drive running the whole time, but this will also burn up HD space.

I've also compared Forza 2 to GRID, and Forza 2 seems like the much better game. Yes, GRID does look quite a bit prettier, but Forza 2 actually seems to let you line up a pass on another car. In GRID all the cars ahead of you always seem to bunch up in a two rows (like the beginning of a NASCAR race), which is not really very realistic and makes it nearly impossible to win a race in 3 laps without trading paint.

Gears Of War
Gears Of War 2
Mass Effect
Halo 3
Fable 2
Forza
Alan Wake
Ninja Gaiden 2
Naruto The Broken Bond

So like I said, is it worth it to pick up one just for these games ? Any multi platform games will be purchased for my Playstation 3. But these are must haves for the 360.

So should I buy a Falcon Elite ?

Ok, let me do you a HUGE favor
Gears of War sucks
Gears of War 2 will suck
Mass Effect sucks and you can play it on the PC
Halo 3 sucks
Fable 2 - never seen it or paid attention to it but im guessing it sucks
Forza - 99% of racing games suck
Alan Wake - vapor ware
Ninja Gaiden 2 - way over rated, I really wanted to play the first one when it came out because of nostalgia and people claimed it was hard, it wasn't hard, and it was nothing like ninja gaiden, in short: it sucks.
Naruto: every console has like 30 naruto games.

GoW was a lot of fun for me, but try to play it co-op with someone - fun factor way higher :)
GoW 2 looks like a blast - more of the goodies from GoW and new stuff too
Mass Effect - get it on the PC, seriously. I mean it.
Halo 3 - never played it tbh :p Played the first Halo and a bit of the second. Kinda lost interest.
Fable 2 - I've been extremely busy in the past few weeks, had only an hour or two to relax this weekend actually. So I triedd this one - awesome game. The story is told in a very epic way, beautiful graphics. If there's something I don't like it's the controls... they seem to be a bit laggy.
Forza - Got PGR 4 myself :p The game was fun, don't play it now though. Waiting for the new NFS game.
Alan Wake - we got a trailer recently, can't see a lot, but it looks like it could be fun.
Ninja Gaiden 2 - I played the demo only but I really like the gameplay. Think I'll pick it up some time later.
Naruto - no clue what this is (even though I know the naruto series)

Now for some games I'd like to recommend:
- Too Human - man, once you get used to the right stick melee option the game's a blast ! And it feels very natural now. Highly recommended :)
- Dead Space - put in an hour last night into this and it's absolutely amazing. Great game!
- Crash of the Titans - I just have a weak spot for those games :p So relaxing! New one coming out on the 31st this month (Crash: Mind over Mutant)
- Soul Calibur IV - fun game :) hard to write something here, I just like it :p

My friends like to game on Fight Night (or Fight Club?), where you play a boxer. It's a "boxing sim". It didn't appeal to me, but some of them seem to be in love with this game.

Hes just mad because his 360 keeps RROD'ing and PS3 doesn't have any of those titles.
